Ik was blij met We had a lovely few days at Clapton farm, it’s absolutely perfect for children (and dogs!). The pitch is small, which we prefer, with a lovely stream running through it, a tree swing and a hammock. Owners Leslie and Fred (Farmer Fred, as my girls called him!) were extremely friendly. Fred even took us on to their farm to see their donkeys, sheep, emu’s and peacocks! Thank you so much 😊

Ik was blij met Beautiful location, it has a stream running beside it. Lovely simple site set down a quiet lane with a small field with electric hook up points. Very welcoming and relaxed hosts who was happy to chat with guests and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The site is very charming. Dogs are very welcome and they have an adjacent field for a bit of exercise. Ideal site for families an anyone who like to relax. We loved it. One of the host, Leslie. Took us all to see the Animals on the farm it was so much fun. Great place for kid. Free WiFi.

Ik was blij met A Peaceful Hidden Gem – Perfect for Families!

We had such a wonderful stay at Clapton Farm in Crewkerne. This campsite is truly a hidden gem – small, peaceful, and full of charm. The quiet setting made it feel like a real escape from the hustle and bustle.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They even made cupcakes for the children using fresh farm eggs and gave them a lovely tour of the farm, where they got to meet the animals – such a memorable experience!

The site itself is beautiful, with a stream running through it, a hammock for relaxing, and a rope swing the kids adored. The facilities were spotless – clean toilets and showers, plus a handy little laundrette. We also loved the fire pit area, complete with freshly cut wood provided free of charge – a perfect spot to unwind in the evening.

I’d highly recommend Clapton Farm to anyone looking for a peaceful break, especially families with young children. It’s a relaxing, friendly place where you can really connect with nature.

Also provided logs and clindling for their center fire pit at free of charge so we could enjoy the warm evenings watching the stars!

Ik was blij met This is a small but very relaxed campsite. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The services are clean with lots of hot water. The stream that runs round the outside of the field is great for the children and dogs to play in ( adults allowed in too 😉) The very large firepit in the middle of the field with seating round is a fabulous addition for everyone to come together to toast marshmallows or just their toes. Firewood is provided free. It’s on a working farm and the owners love to take people round to see the animals and how it runs.

Ik was niet blij met Not really disliked by us but some people may be unhappy with the road noise and the trainline being so close by so need to be made aware.

Ik was blij met What a wonderful gem of a campsite! It’s tiny, and so very personal. The river/stream kept the kids, and dog entertained the whole holiday. There is a central communal firepit that was well stocked during our stay. My dad made good use of it and more wood kept appearing.

The toilets were well stocked and very clean. A bit of gravel on the floor as you entered, but that was dragged in by our own feet. And then the washing machine and dish washing area was also clean and tidy. It’s small, you can fit one person in there doing their washing up. But the door closes if the weather is bad and it’s such a small site you don’t need more.

The hammock by the river is so peaceful and cool. A lifesaver when it was hot! And the ducks waddling round are delightful.

The owners have the farm opposite and they picked us up one day in their buggy/car thing to go for a walk around and meet the animals. Best day ever for the kids. We met the donkeys and lambs etc. The dog came too!

Most days the owner popped by with her hand reared lamb and let the kids help feed her. And every Wednesday the icecream man comes.

Ik was niet blij met Bring a pair of earplugs for nighttime if you’re a light sleeper. It’s by a road and a railway line. We didn’t really find it to be a problem.

Ik was blij met Was looking for a campsite close to my sisters home in Crewkerne. Thankfully this lovely small campsite is just down the road from Crewkerne, meaning a short drive to shops aswell.
There is many beautiful areas to visit when in Somerset but also only a 25 minute drive to the Devon coast of Charmouth or Lyme Regus.
It's is very well kept and even though there is only one bathroom for women and another for men due to the size of the campsite you just kept an eye out for it to be free and only had to wait a couple of minutes at most. The shower room/toilet looks like a shed on the outside but a proper shower room inside and worked perfectly.
The scenery is beautiful with the stream where kids can paddle, surrounding fields and trees, and ducks keeping us entertained.
The owners are lovely, welcoming and checked everything was OK.
We ended our trip with a last night community campfire where we shared marshmallows with the children and adults had a natter.
We honestly loved staying here and will 100% be back!

Ik was niet blij met The only downside to this campsite was the train track which was very close by. The trains continued into the late night and can be quite noisy. Thankfully they do go by less frequently the later it gets and didn't stop us from sleeping or wake us up at all.
