Set off to Somerset and a small, simple farm site that’s splendidly located for an overnight stop on a long motorway journey or a longer holiday spent taking walks in lovely green countryside, hitting the beach or visiting all sorts of landmarks and attractions. The pitches at Orchard Farm are part of a flat field within a working farm that's home to calves, poultry and ducks. It’s all very relaxed here, so you can pick whichever spot you most like the look of – perhaps somewhere close to the bathrooms for convenience or a quieter corner where you can really chill out. Whichever pitch you pick, you’ll have access to a clutch of useful facilities including toilets, firepits and picnic benches; you’ll also be able to bring along a barbecue for a bit of alfresco cookery. Bridgwater (15 minutes’ drive) is your best bet for a supermarket stock-up, but there are some lovely farm shops worth checking out closer to the site for local meats, drinks and suchlike. If you’d rather eat out or try a local pint, the local pub is a mile away. Being only a little way from the M5 motorway means this is a handy stopover point for those journeying to or from Cornwall, but if you choose to stick around a little longer you should find plenty to fill your days with – including trips to Glastonbury, Wells, Wookey Hole and the beach at Burnham-on-Sea.
