The Ruins Campsite is a laidback spot to pitch your tent in the gorgeous surrounds of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is set on an organic dairy farm and has many acres of grassy green meadows to admire, plus views over the historic buildings of Milton Abbey School as an added bonus. The sights and sounds of life on the farm – including mooing cows – are all up for grabs here. This quiet site is well-suited to families, couples and small groups looking for a relaxed camping break. Facilities include access to toilets and hot showers, while the farm has plenty of space for all sorts of outdoor activities, including barbecues or walking your dog (if you've brought one). The site is located between the attractive villages of Hilton and Milton Abbas; between them they have a tea rooms, farm shop and pub. A selection of fresh local produce is also sold on site. Further afield, you're a 20-minute drive from the historic market towns of Dorchester and Blandford Forum, while the Jurassic Coast is roughly half an hour away. Popular nearby beaches include Ringstead, Bowleaze Cove and Man O'War beach.
