If you’re searching for a breath of fresh air and a whole lot of peace… you’ll find both in abundance at Devon farm site Brooklands Caravan Park. Within 20 minutes' drive of Exeter, you'll be within reach of city sights but just out of earshot. Reserve the thrill of family-friendly theme parks, dramatic coastlines and countryside capers for the day and return to this wildlife haven for rest. Bring your dogs along, as there are already resident dogs on site ready to greet you, and plenty more friendly faces, including resident owners Ben and Katharyn, ready to let you in on secret of the well-loved local sights. The coves and clifftops of the Jurassic Coast are waiting 15 minutes' drive away… here, it’s easy to while away the day cycling, hiking, or ducking in and out of the waves. And no matter how sandy you get, you’ll be safe in the knowledge that the toilets, shower block and launderette are on hand for a refresh back on site. Worked up an appetite? Not to worry, there are several pubs within five minutes’ drive for local beers, wines and good grub. Seek out more fresh local produce in three farm shops within five minutes’ drive, and in case you're in need of snacks on the go, you can pick up any extras from the village shop or bigger supermarket within 10 minutes’ drive.

Get your golf club ready… it's time to putt the holes at the nearby Woodbury Park Hotel & Golf Club (five minutes’ drive). Crealy Theme Park & Resort (five minutes) is also around the corner, where kids can shoot down log flumes or fly high on rollercoasters and swings. More entertainment, this time in the form of a showground with events running throughout the year, is over at Westpoint Exeter (five minutes). The city is calling… vaulted underground tunnels, cathedrals, and museums are just a few of the activities to add to your list in Exeter (20 minutes), where the River Exe makes for smooth sailing, kayaking or fishing too. In the city, look out Northernhay Gardens, framed by ruins of Exeter Castle – it's the oldest space open to the public in England, and rightly so. Hee-haw… what’s that sound? The Donkey Sanctuary (20 minutes) harbours hundreds of grazing donkeys. Just try not to get too lost in the mazes and woodlands on their site. Head out further afield and greet more animals up close at Paignton Zoo (40 minutes). Then, head to the seaside fancy of Dawlish Warren (30 minutes), where the steam railways puffs by regularly, and you can wander the stately grounds at Powderham Castle (25 minutes) or tackle the clifftops over the heritage coastline.
