Craving the seaside with all the cream and sprinkles on top? Well, there are tasty beaches, fishing villages and coastal walks all around Trewall Farm Campsite. It’s a truly Cornish stay at this coastal site and the sea will never seem far away, as the dog-friendly and family-friendly grassy pitches look right over the big blue – and Whitsand Bay (10 minutes’ drive) and Looe’s fishing town are right in view too (15 minutes’ drive for this traditional little place). As for your neighbours, you’ll be sharing this working farm with cows and sheep. Toilets, showers and a fresh water tap have their place on the farm, so you won’t be without the basic comforts. As for taking in the view, perhaps you'll want to lay down a blanket on the flat pitches or gather everyone about for a game – there’s plenty of space to do either. You might be surprised where your feet can take you from this site, whether it’s local fish and chip shops or the South West Coast Path (20 minutes’ walk). Downderry village’s pub on the shore, bistro or vegan café down by the dog-friendly beach are all within 20 minutes’ walk too. Seaton’s the next place over and 35 minutes’ walk away – it has a long stretch of sand and the wildlife-packed Seaton Valley Countryside Park. It's pretty well primed for picnics too, so you may want to head to local farm shops or supermarkets within 10 miles of the site to get ready.

Fantastisch panoramisch zeezicht vanaf alle ruime, goed gespreide plaatsen. De faciliteiten zijn altijd brandschoon. Eigenaren Paul en Michelle zijn uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam, wat zorgt voor een ontspannen sfeer. Ideale locatie om de omgeving te verkennen. Een aanrader!

Ik was blij met Great views, easy to find and follow check in instructions, you can park next to your tent with good firm ground - no worries about the car getting stuck but we did bend a few pegs! Campsite well equipped for adverse weather conditions there is a sheltered area with picnic bench too.

Ik was blij met A great welcome, and a well cared-for site, with all the facilities we want and no frills.

Great views, with plenty of space due to a limited number of pitches in a large field. Pitches are laid out thoughtfully, to make sure everyone gets the best possible views.

The walk to the town and beach is on a narrow road with very little traffic - we walked the round-trip twice, and were passed by two cars. I can't say we enjoyed the hill coming back up to the site, but it's perfectly manageable if you walk regularly.

Being on a hill with a great view also means that you are exposed to the elements, and we certainly got hit by a strong storm, to the point that we couldn't open the main campervan door. That wouldn't put us off from returning, though.

Ik was blij met Facilities are always tidy and clean. You can rent a log burner and buy logs. Always very nice hot showers. Picnic areas, fresh water. Open field to have a little walk around. Beautiful view. When the rain sweeps in from the sea it's a glorious site seeing looe dissappear into the clouds. It's on top of a hill so it does get windy but the view is glorious with looe island and seeing the tides in and out. Easy drive down to downderry and park to go to the beach if you don't fancy going to far.

Ik was blij met Stunning views of the sea and countryside, very friendly owner - Paul greeted us shortly after arriving, ensuring we knew and understood the rules and where things were situated. He also recommended visiting the village and pub, which we did and it was lovely.

Facilities were very clean and looked after, supplied with essentials and even the use of the fridge and freezer for anyone in need. Also eggs out for sale too.

We visited Looe which was a lovely little town with lots to see and do, only 20 min drive away.

Would love to revisit with some sunnier weather!

Ik was blij met The views from this site are amazing.180 degrees sea view and the other 180 degrees lovely countryside. Paul the owner is cheerful and chatty. Plenty of hot water to have a shower. Fresh eggs also for sale. Been before and would definitely go back.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Things might seem easygoing so far, but there’s just the place nearby to raise the stakes. Adrenalin Quarry (15 minutes’ drive) lives up to its name, thanks to its aqua park, go-karting circuit and 490-metre zipwire (that’s if you have the courage to take the leap from the 50-metre cliff). Segways are the sport of choice at Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park (half an hour). This historic park by the sea has more than just coastal views: it’s also an estate with activities from survival courses to archery, watersports and circus skills (stilts, anyone?). For the animal world, some fur (or feather) therapy takes place at Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary (half an hour). There’s the opportunity to be a keeper for a day both here and at Wild Futures (15 minutes), a local monkey sanctuary. Rainforest biomes are the territory for a whole load of tropical plants and that’s the tune at Eden Project (45 minutes). Polperro (half an hour) is along the coast in the same direction, so perhaps you’ll want to pair your trip there with a visit to the large fishing village, where walks, beaches and fishing trips are rife.
