What a cracking corner of Cornwall this is: make a break for Bush Farm Wild Camping if you fancy peaceful times spent lounging by the Lynher river. There's certainly no shortage of space at this 200-acre site – woodland walks, strolls through green fields and waterside wanders by rivers and lakes are all on offer here. This family-friendly spot is a fab site to bring the kids to, especially if they're avid nature fans: these wild grounds are always rustling with local birds and beasts, and you can keep an eye out for the farm's friendly horses and dogs as well. When you roll up at this green and grassy spot, you'll be given a map and left to settle down wherever you please. Don't fancy trekking to get to the loo and showers? Opt for the main site instead and pitch up closer to the farm’s creature comforts. Off-site jaunts are also easily arranged in this well-connected part of the world – Saltash and the gorgeous river Tamar are 10 minutes' drive away, while Plymouth, on the other side of the Devon-Cornwall border, can be reached in about 25 minutes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome here. The Bush Farm Wild Camping crew are happy for you to light up a barbecue or firepit and can sort you out with bags of wood to help you get the flames flickering in no time.

Ik was blij met: Loved the watering can showers!! The stay was lovely- felt like we were in the middle of no where which is exactly what we were after. Kids loved playing on the tyre swings and in the river.

Ik was blij met: This is our Third time staying here. We always love how welcoming and friendly the owners are! It's our favourite by far. All the facilities are always well stocked and easy to get to, no matter where you pitch. We'll be back again!!

Ik was blij met: The site is really nice and facilities are good. Stuart & staff are also very nice.

Ik was niet zo blij met: This is my second time staying here and although this is a family campsite, first stay I left early due to very noisy neighbours and second time music was being played very loudly until the early hours and screaming/singing and loud hackerling didn’t stop until gone 3am. TBF the manager said call if any issues but as I was only there for one night I just stomached it!

Ik was blij met: Absolutely everything, the campsite is beautiful so relaxing, we were a little naughty and bought a iPad with us so we could watch a movie in the tent.. not quite wild camping to the extreme but good enough, this was our first time camping and we were in love with the place. Stayed one night, no rules no rowdy kids plenty of space gorgeous lake, gorgeous greenery just honestly beautiful we will be back! The host was lovely too!! ☺️ Really want to about about this to everyone and everyone I meet!

Ik was blij met: Perfect wild camping experience you can get with the available amenities. I felt I was in a remote place. I stayed 4 nights and saw almost no one around the area that I camped. The river sound makes amazing tranquil effect just before falling asleep.

Ik was blij met: On arrival we were greeted by Ben at the reception who was extremely helpful. I was given a map of the site and facilities that were available, offered a fire pit and wood at an extra charge of £5. We pitched in No Man’s Land and it was perfect. We had the whole area to ourselves right next to the water. It was so peaceful, there was also a tyre swing for the kids to play on whilst I got the tent set up. Toilet facilities were good, clean, and to a good standard ‘quirky’ which we also liked. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Thank you again the kids and myself enjoyed our first camping trip!

Ik was niet zo blij met: Nothing.. if you are looking for some wild, off grid camping to relax with lots of space I would highly recommend.

After a couple of days on this vast family farm, you'll probably be a dab hand at finding your way around a fair few of its 200 acres. Put those navigation skills to the test at The Amazing Cornish Maize Maze (five minutes' drive), a fiendishly tricky labyrinth that's planted in a different layout each summer. Adrenaline Quarry (20 minutes), an adventurous activities centre, has more family-friendly options to keep the small sorts on side. Grownups who fancy a break from DIY-style stays can indulge in a proper pampering at St. Mellion Estate (10 minutes), a posh Cornish resort with a top-notch golf course and soothing spa. Once your aches and pains have melted away, take a blissful saltwater bath at Whitsand Bay (20 minutes), or head to Looe harbour for wine by the sea and sunset strolls. The inimitable Eden Project (45 minutes) has been a mainstay of Cornish hols since it opened the doors to its domes back in 2001 – budding botanists and eager environmentalists will definitely want to make the trip.
