Wild Combe Camping

Ik was blij met: Beautiful part of the Downs in walking distance to an excellent, family run pub. Lovely views, very peaceful, not too busy and plenty of space. We met the farm owner and she was lovely too! Our children loved the swings and playing in the woods. We would love to come back!

Ik was blij met: Plenty of spaces, dog friendly, good layout, good location, friendly staff, very basic

Ik was niet zo blij met: Couldn't locate the bins. There was a noisy group nearby ( lots of laughter so I forgive them 😊) Not many available loos so there was a small queue for my morning wee.

Ik was blij met: Lots of space, the reservoir is a huge plus. Really friendly hosts.

Ik was blij met: Great location and pitch, with a lovely pub in walking distance. We didn't even go swimming/sup on the reservoir as it was tipping with rain but had a great time at the campsite. Lots of beautiful villages and towns in the area with plenty to do.

Ik was blij met: I decided to take my 10 year old son for a nights camping last minute and found Wild Combe and decided to give it a go as it advertised 'water sport' and camp fires. The site is large and spread over a couple of fields. Mid week there were around 8 other campers families with small kids. Very friendly welcome and plenty of firewood for the evening at the eleven pounds including firepit (reasonable) We inflated a couple of canoes and took to he water around 9am and we were joined by others on paddle board. The revisor is bigger than it looks on from the bank once you're on the water and big enough for a couple of hours paddling and eating the kingfisher dart around the bank. Decided not to brave the 'bucket showers' on site but they did look clean as were the 'Loo s for Do's' withe plenty of hand sanitiser and toile paper. Great site and a wonderful impromptu night star gazing. Would highly recommend and we plan to return. M Cody

Ik was blij met: Really enjoyed the very clear signs to the campsites and clearly marked fields. Lyndsay was so lovely, helpful and made a lovely effort with my son. We hired a bell tent which was beautiful, had everything that was needed and very comfortable. The fields are lovely with lots of space to play and explore. The reservoir looked beautiful. The bucket showers are so refreshing and easy to use. Overall just had a really lovely stay!

Ik was niet zo blij met: Only thing that we disliked was the smell of the loos, but also understand can't really avoid it in a wild camping experience!

Ik was blij met: We really loved our stay and would drlefinately choose to go back. Loved the firepits, being able to swim in the resevoir, being near the pub and nice walks. The site itself was very peaceful with plenty of space between each pitch. Everyone was friendly and it felt very safe.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Real shame that there was no drinking water. This is probably the only reason we would think twice before staying again. It also seemed quite far from any walkable village/small shops, so we had to buy water at the pub. We didnt like having to buy lots of single use plastic bottles.

Ik was blij met: Cleanliness of the site. Pitches well spaced out. Fire pit and wood available. Great walks straight from the campsite.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Bucket shower heads don’t work properly and only let a dribble through.
