Ik was niet blij met Didn’t say as there was no way I could carry all my camping equipment from a car park to the site. Totally impossible

Van de manager: Good Evening, it is very clear from our listing in here and our website that there is no vehicle access to the campsite and that the nearest car parks are 1.5mile hike in. As tenants of the National Trust this is a condition of our tenancy that has been in place for the last thirty years I believe. You also should have received a text message to make sure you were aware there’s no vehicle access as some people fail to read it in the listing. As listing….There is no vehicular access to the site whatsoever for visitors and so is only accessible on foot or cycle. Which makes Gumber Bothy the perfect tranquil place to escape to. The nearest you can park is approximately 1.5miles away, either at Bignor Hill car park (SU974129) or Northwood Junction (SU959098) where the tarmac road runs out.
Text that you should have received “You are aware that there’s no vehicle access to the campsite I assume?”
If you had called me or caught either of the wardens on site I’m sure we could have assisted with your kit in some way. Instead you chose not to get in touch and rate a 1/10 review on here. Gumber is predominantly used by those on foot, cycle or horse back and most guests love its remoteness. Should you wish is discuss further please get in touch tomorrow. You have my details. Ik was blij met I loved it so much, the farm and the location is lovely, kitchen, shower and toilets are clean, I had long walks in the woods while I stayed, I felt like home. The owners are very friendly. Definitely I’ll come back soon.

Ik was blij met Loved it. Felt proper wild middle of nowhere but also really cosy.

Ik was blij met The farm has sheep & baby lambs. Very relaxed & peaceful area on the south downs hike trail. Has a full kitchen & hot showers & plenty of toilets. I found the people who lived there very friendly & accommodating.

Ik was blij met Isolated and calm.
Excellent facilities for a remote location.
Great access to the South Downs Way.
Cherry and Jez, the hosts, were very charming.

Ik was blij met Simple, easy. Good place. Great facilities. Friendly people.

Ik was niet blij met In a star gazing low light zone, the house put and left an outside light on which gave the background light you want to avoid.

Ik was blij met Remoteness peaceful a perfect position for the south downs way. Well equipped clean and hot showers. This was my 12th stay over the years and it was great to see it has lost none of it's magic. Back next year for sure.

Ik was blij met Great location just off the South Downs way with excellent showers and a well setup kitchen. Drying room would be really handy at other times too.

Ik was niet blij met No so much a dislike but an FYI if you are camping there are no plugs where you charge phones etc and there is basically no Vodafone coverage at the site

Ik was blij met Amazing location, fantastic facilities that are maintained brilliantly. So secluded and surrounded by lovely walks. Will no doubt be back in the years to come! Thanks again.
