Bowses Hill Farm

Ik was blij met The Garden was so lovely and well thought out. The shed slept five of us in three beds and we were all very comfortable. Table and benches within the green house was a lovely idea and gave us an enclosed place to sit and eat or play games. Hot tub was great once we got it to temperature. The Garden was surrounded by a fence which kept our dog secure although a small dog may be able to squeeze under the gate. Great walk around the edge of the site with a forest area that was great for exploring and walking the dog. Children’s natural play area in the corner of the site and farm animals alongside the camping field. My son particularly liked the pigs.

Ik was niet blij met It did take hours to get the hot tub to temperature on the first night. The latch on the gate appeared to be bent and often needed two hands to secure the gate and was too tricky for my eight year old. The hot tub water smelt bad on the second and third nights of our three day stay (we didn’t call anyone about this but maybe we should have). We didn’t see anyone at check-in and we didn’t get or find any information on the local area as a result. I am not convinced the toilets were cleaned daily one in particular appeared untouched until the third night of our stay. The only sink in the bathroom was particularly tiny. Despite our negatives we really did enjoy our stay in The Garden and would consider staying there again if we are ever in the area.

Cockerels were crowing at 3am. I would take ear plugs next time. A lot of people were not woken, Im a light sleeper

Ik was blij met Choice of wood land plot, clean toilets, friendly feel, animals to look at for kids, freedom for campfires and various set ups.

Ik was niet blij met 4am Cockerels not really good for a campsite.

Stronger controls on noise beyond 1030 would be good, music and shouting until past midnight every night

Ik was blij met We made our very first trip to Bowses Hill Farm for a three-night camping stay to coincide with the Blackpool Airshow at the start of August and it’s safe to say this gem of a site has firmly secured a spot on our 'must return' list… again, and again, and again!

We pitched up on the main camping field, framed on one side by a pretty wooded area and on the other by a small farm where sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens happily potter about. The children were in their element, feeding the pigs each day and greeting the free-roaming chickens as they strutted past our tent each morning.

Tucked into the woods at the back of the field is a brilliant children’s playground, where ours spent endless hours climbing, swinging, and making new friends from all corners of the campsite.

One of our favourite touches? Log burners are welcomed here. We brought our own, but you can hire one along with wood, kindling, and all the essentials for an evening campfire. Toasting marshmallows under a starlit sky was magical, made even better by the “magic dust” packets we picked up from the farm. We tossed about 3 on the fire each night, and the flames danced through blues, purples, and greens. The kids were mesmerised.

Cars are kept in the main car park once you’ve set up camp, meaning the field stays free of traffic, a thoughtful touch that makes the whole place feel safer and more peaceful for children to run about.

Charlotte, the lovely owner, was always close by with a smile and happy to help, whether we needed tips about the local area or advice on campsite facilities. Speaking of which, the toilets, showers, and pot-washing areas were spotless, and the hot water never failed us.

We’re already eyeing dates for our next trip, and given we’re just over an hour away, we suspect it won’t be long before we’re back. If you’re after a warm, well-run campsite just 20 minutes from England’s west coast, Bowses Hill Farm is one you won’t want to miss.
