Ik was blij met Unfortunately we weren’t there long enough to comment as we didn’t look at facilities but seems like a nice site.

Ik was niet blij met We booked at the last minute as we live locally and had a power cut at home. When we arrived on site, the owner explained that the power would be turned off at 9pm as they are solar powered and one of their solar panels was damaged in the storm. We arrived on the site at 16.50.
We set up the campervan and put our heating on. We didn’t use the kettle or tv as we had IPads etc.
At 7pm we got a WhatsApp message stating that they would be turning the power off due to power levels dropping. We were the only people on an empty site so I’m not quite sure how they would manage if the site was full or even half full! There was little point in staying on a pitch with no power and we didn’t have enough gas to keep us warm overnight as the trip was very much unplanned so we left and went home where at least we have a woodburner.
It states on pitchup that EHU’s are turned off 2 hours after sunset (in the small print at the bottom!). This wasn’t the case last night. If we used so much power in the 2 hours we were there, I dread to think how much power would be used if there were more people on site (although they were one solar panel down)
MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FINE PRINT CAREFULLY (as we didn’t in the rush of trying to find somewhere to stay!). This is definitely more ‘off grid’ than EHU so if that’s what you’re looking for you’ll enjoy your stay. Perhaps that could be made clearer on the pitchup webpage as it appears that you are booking an EHU when in actual fact you technically aren’t (only part EHU).If you stay in the summer, you’ll be ok as you won’t need much power but definitely NOT a site for a winter stay unless you want to use your gas.

Ik was blij met Lovely compact site in cracking location for the Cumbrian beach & Drigg sand dunes with good pitches.
Staff friendly and flexible (in respect to check in / out as opposed to mobility 😄) - a last minute booking date change was not an issue.
Facilities excellent from showers to refuse!
Train station & bus facilities very near by!

Ik was niet blij met A local pub.
Wi-Fi needed a bit of a boost.

Ik was blij met Modern, clean site with level pitches. Quiet with friendly staff. Would recommend. Great location for exploring the sand dunes and beaches of West Cumbria.

Ik was blij met It makes you feel like you're off-grid, super quiet, in a beautiful little village by an untouched beach.... 20 minute walk and you're by the sea. Great links to coastal walks and you're a short drive from the peaks that are on your list to get done before the end of your holiday. There's a train that will take you up and down the coast, Seascale and St Bees we're lovely to visit but Ravenglass was really cool, especially the steam engine railway that you can go on.
