The Bungalow Caravan Site

Ik was blij met The site was beautifully presented and very well kept.
The owner Andrew met us on arrival and was very helpful.
Booking and payment very organised.
Price was very acceptable for the standard of the facilities.
We liked having a tap and a grey water disposal point very handy to our pitch.
Bus stop outside the gate to York.
The resident peacocks were gorgeous.

Ik was niet blij met It’s a shame to moan about anything about this site but noise from the road running alongside did spoil the peace somewhat.
Nowhere to really safely walk to directly from the site. We have two small dogs and we did use the widish grass verge outside the gate to “toilet” our dogs (picking up of course) but to get to the village or a lovely bridlepath a bit further down the lane, you had to walk on the road where a lot of vehicles passed at an astonishingly high speed? It’s a long straight stretch that motorbikes in particular seem to view as a race track? Perhaps the local council could consider some traffic calming measures along there to make it safer for everyone but of course outside the site owner’s jurisdiction.

Ik was blij met A great little site, upon arrival we was welcomed by the owner Andrew, who was very helpful and informative, explaining where the facilities were located and also giving us information around the local area and routes into York. He had even created a hub for information, containing various useful information such as bus timetables, walking routes, a selection of books, dvd's that you could borrow along with places to visit and how to get there.

The site was very well laid out, with spacious flat pitches, with views out to fields and woodlands. Making it a very relaxing and chilled weekend stay.

There were also two resident Peacocks, that liked to come and say hello in the early evening, which was lovely to see.

The weather was very kind to us, so we hopped on the bus into York on the Saturday, the bus stop was right outside the site entrance which was a big positive. The ticket was £3 each way to York and return, you could either pay cash or card, and our little dog travelled free on both journeys.

The bus took around 30mins to travel into the centre, which was great given that it was on a Saturday, and York was so busy with people being out enjoying the beautiful weather.

The site was easy accessible, located directly off a B-road which wasn't particularly busy but I did find it to be a fast stretch of road.

As we were only there for the weekend (2 nights) we didn't venture out of the site on foot, but what we did see, the nearby village where the village pub and local tearooms were located was a couple of miles away and you had to walk on the grass verge along the road, which we saw quite a few people walking the route during, but I wouldn't have liked to walk the route in the dark.

The site is also with fairly close proximity to the shopping outlet, of which we didn't visit, but had we stayed longer, we would have visited.

I would definitely recommend this lovely site to others and I would also return to the site.

Ik was niet blij met No dislike for the site, as the site was lovely and we knew what we were coming to, but my only negative is that because we like to park up and walk, without walking at the side of the road they didn't appear to be many walking routes around that avoided walking on the roadside.

Host met us on arrival and explained what facilities there were
We knew there were no toilets/showers before booking so that was fine
Fresh water/rubbish disposal/ chemical toilet emptying facility/ information chalet
All good.

Ik was blij met Adults only site nice and quiet, bus stops just outside, but with information and books in case you forget a good read.

Ik was blij met Quite location most of the day some work traffic but did not spoil it for me.
The site is very tidy and clean with a small cabin with local information.
Adult site .
Owner is very friendly & helpful and let's you get on with it.
They have some interesting wildlife such as wild deer and red kites and a lot of small birdlife .

Ik was niet blij met Its a rural spot so if you have a dog to walk as did , you need to be careful as there are no footpaths until you get closer to Stillingfleet village, not a complaint it's the location and it's not too busy anyway .
Shops are not local or abundant so take the opportunity to stock up on bits when needed.
There are no toilets which are advertised, a septic tank is used for elsan disposal and you need the green septic tank approved fluid in your toilet.
again this not a complaint just making people aware .

Ik was blij met Lovely little site. Owner Andrew very friendly and accommodating. Didn't mind which way you parked your caravan so we had lovely views overlooking the field and woods and was lucky enough to see deer and pheasants. Nothing around it but there was a bus stop straight outside to take you to York or Selby. We walked to Naburn lock but no footpath but road wasn't too busy.
