If your idea of a top-notch rural break is one that’s packed with scenic strolls and/or bike rides, you should be in good hands at Ivy Bank Campsite. This spacious, family- and dog-friendly site is on the edge of the village of Kirkby Malzeard and surrounded by the Nidderdale National Landscape, with the Yorkshire Dales National Park not far beyond. There are heaps of places to get out for a day of hiking or cycling: Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Newby Hall are all within a half-hour drive, and the site owners are happy to pass on tips for local jaunts too. Take urban wanders around Ripon (15 minutes’ drive away) and Harrogate (25 minutes), or trade all the rural peace for thrills at Lightwater Valley Theme Park, 15 minutes away, too. There’s plenty of space for post-activity chilling out on site, with the on-site café dishing out fresh coffee and croissants, hot and cold sandwiches and sweet treats like cakes, brownies and scones (you're also welcome to stay parked after your check-out to use the café). Unwind at the mobile hot tub (extra fee applies) too, or head to the play area that's a two-minute walk away from the site. If you'd like to cook for yourself, there's a small kitchen area housed in a converted horsebox with a sink, oven and hob as well as a book exchange and plugs to charge devices. Other handy bits and bobs around the place include a shower block and recycling facilities. Firepits are available to rent for warming up of an evening; if you’d prefer to cosy up in the pub, it’s a mere five-minute amble to the local tavern for a pint or plate of grub. Also in the village are a chip shop and a butcher to supply the bits for your barbecue.

Dit kampeerterrein wordt geprezen om het vriendelijke personeel, schone faciliteiten (incl. warme douches) en de mooie landelijke ligging nabij een dorp. Ik was blij met Great site - getting better and better. Would like to see booking the hot tub easier to do as we booked on pitch up and saw no option to book. Next time we will book directly!

Ik was blij met Really friendly and helpful staff upon check in and the food in the cafe was amazing.

The two nights we spent there were very peaceful. Overall really loved our stay

Ik was niet blij met Like some other reviews, the showers could do with extra hooks to hang clothing on as even with the shower curtain closed, the floor (and your belongings) get wet.

Ik was blij met Easy to get to and within close proximity to places like Masham and Ripon. The site itself is relatively flat with different areas for different types of camping, along with various glamping options. (A suggestion for the owners would be to consider making areas for different groups, such as families or couples). There was an on-site cafe and takeaway, which we didn’t get to use as it was shut Mondays and Tuesdays for staff days off. The staff at the site were friendly. The village of Kirkby Malzeard is easy to get to, and has a lovely little shop and a really top butchers. There is a pub too.

Ik was blij met Clean, tidy, great shower and toilet blocks. Fridge/ freezer, kettle, microwave all great additions along with an on site cafe also selling some essentials! Great site with kids as plenty of space for them to run round and play and only a 5 minute walk to the local park

No silly rules on pitch sizes etc nice relaxed and well ran site

Ik was blij met This was our second visit to Ivy Bank.
Our last visit was off peak September , quiet and felt rural.
Location - ideal as we have family locally
When quiet the facilities on site are perfect.
Cafe is great - good quality food , cooked fresh to order .
Midweek the site had a more manageable amount of guests for the facilities

Ik was niet blij met On the first weekend there must easily have been up to 300 people and the facilities were not enough for this amount of people
4 toilets ladies /4 showers
Mens similar and to be honest nothing was kept clean all week , low or no toilet roll and just generally not hygienic .
It’s a shame because I love the campsite but providing a quality experience should rank better than taking the cash .
I also brought an additional 5 adults and 4 kids this time and was embarrassed by the facilities provided .

Van de manager: Thanks for the feedback sadly we have had some double booking issues over the weekend where we had limited pitches on our own booking system but this did not update to pitchups systems.

I’m so so sorry you left feeling like this as we prided ourselves on good feedback , We have put in measures to change to a new booking system next year which will stop this from happening again.
