Ik was blij met Lovely camping field next to open countryside. Horses in the next field. Honesty box for basic supplies. Fire baskets available, though quite expensive for wood.

Ik was niet blij met Not great facilities. Not keen on unisex toilets and showers, particularly when there are only two toilets and 2 showers for the whole campsite! You also need 50p coins for the showers.

Reviews like this are extremely significant to our small, family run business and we spend time worrying about them.

We do state on our website that the shower block is unisex and that showers are 50p. As you will see from all the previous reviews, this isn't usually an issue. We have had a unisex shower block since we opened in 2014, as we felt it was the easiest way to provide facilities for as many people as possible, at any one time, with what was manageable for us to build. People can then use the showers as a family, or shower share, to save hot water. This seems to work well. 50p gives a 7 minute shower, which is plenty of time.

In looking back at the previous 10 reviews before yours, all of them mention how clean or good our facilities are. One of them specifically mentions that they never had to wait to use the facilities, even when the site was fully booked. We are only a small campsite and two showers and two toilets is plenty, especially when we usually have caravans and motor homes staying with us, who will make use of their own showers and toilets.

We are sorry that you have given the facilities 5/10 for cleanliness, and 1/10 overall. We do our best to keep everything as clean and tidy as possible. We can't monitor this all the time, but we clean twice a day, check on things many times a day and make it very clear to all guests that we live on site and are available, should they encounter any problems. We are extremely busy in the summer holidays, with our own children, other projects and other jobs but, as you will see from our reviews, we always take the time to meet and greet people and pop out to chat with everyone regularly. We are proud of our 10/10s for customer service and value for money and we are proud of our campsite too.

Ik was blij met I visited for 1 night with my 7yr old. Great place for a family get together, away. The hosts were great. There was a meet and greet on arrival and they provided everything we needed from the fire basket and wood and clean facilities. The shower/toilet Block and washing up area was kept clean regularly. The shop provided cold storage free as well as local produce. 50p pieces were provided free for the shower, which were on a timer, but provided ample water for 2 people to shower. I would 100% return for another visit.

The 50p coins are actually for exchanging for a pound coin, or for adding onto purchases from our little shop (they aren't free). However, as you say, this gives 7 minutes, which does give enough time for two people to shower. You can pay for everything in one go, with a contactless card payment, if you want to buy a few items from our Provisions Place, at the end of your stay.

Ik was blij met Lovely small site. Good shower (50p for 7 mins which is plenty). Ordered breakfast provisions (eggs, sausages and rolls) which were very good. Friendly owners. The Rumburgh Buck (10 min walk) is very good for both food and drink.

Close to places like southwold and aldeburgh, great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.

Ik was blij met pitches are really spacious and hedging adds privacy. Bathrooms were kept very clean and showers were good. Handy to have the communal fridge and fresh farm eggs each morning. I made use of the fire pit and logs for £7.50 - 2 bundles lasted 3 nights. Owners are friendly and helpful, especially with getting my tent back into the bag at the end of the trip!! :) Good pub only 5 mins walk down lane.

Peaceful site. Helpful owners. Pub nearby. Well situated to explore north Suffolk and nearby coast. Good size pitches. Good value for money.

Ik was blij met It’s a wonderful little campsite as it tends to attract nice people. The shop had good morals with what seems good products. The owners are lovely to greet us and say goodbye.
For us the lack of WiFi wasn’t an issue. A bit of a digital detox does us all good from time to time.

Ik was niet blij met There could be a bigger mirror in the bathroom in the cubicle with just the sink as it was awkward to do things with a small makeup mirror. The shower curtains that stick to you when you’re showering are an unfortunate necessity.

Thanks for understanding that the shower curtains have to be fabric type ones. They aren't solid/glass ones as they are too difficult to keep clean. We have such hard water in our area that they quickly become limescaled up. If the shower room window is shut, they don't usually stick to you. We apologise that it caused a problem for you.

I may have forgotten to point it out to you, but there is a full length mirror in the fridge freezer side room. There is a socket near it, so people use it for drying and straightening their hair, or doing their make up. I'm sorry that you didn't find this one.

WiFi is a tricky one. It isn't strong in Rumburgh and our signal isn't great. Most people are with providers where they find using 4 or 5G is adequate. We hope to rectify this in the future buy also agree that a technology detox can be refreshing!
