The single fully-furnished bell tent at this exclusive-use site has high-quality décor that really stands out, with attractive wooden furniture, a kingsize bed and a tasteful colour scheme coming together to create a very pleasing backdrop indeed… This private and secluded space, which sleeps up to four, is set in a field that you'll have all to yourselves. It's on the edge of Cawston, a peaceful village surrounded by Norfolk countryside. Highlights here include a friendly pub, an independent deli, a convenience store, a park and a church, while the north Norfolk coast and Norwich city centre can both be reached within half an hour by road. Back at base, your tent comes with access to well-maintained private toilet and shower facilities, a kitchen and dining area and a relaxing firepit. Plenty of outdoor furniture is available, so it's easy to soak up the far-reaching rural views while relaxing outdoors and watch stunning sunsets. In need of some me time? Guests at Wild Retreat also have access to a range of additional services, from luxury beauty treatments to tasty chef-cooked meals.

Deze camping biedt een heerlijk afgelegen en rustig uitje met adembenemende uitzichten op het platteland. Gasten prijzen de kwalitatieve inrichting, comfortabele bedden en een uitzonderlijk goed uitgeruste keukentent. Gastvrouw Anna krijgt lof voor haar behulpzaamheid, heerlijke eten en spabehandelingen. Ik was blij met Wonderful secluded setting, peaceful and quiet with nothing but birdsong and sunsets - village has a little shop and a wonderful deli
High quality furnishing, very comfortable bed and very well equipped kitchen tent with freezer and microwave
Sitting around the firepit with the wonderful countryside views
Anna is the perfect host, from helpful advice about local running routes to best nearby beaches and nothing is too much trouble. Amazing "proper" hot chocolate delivered at 10pm, outstanding fresh breakfasts and the Lamb Tagine and the Bolognaise are both restaurant quality. Her talents continue into treatments in her spa - I enjoyed an amazing stress relief massage and my daughter a facial which she says is the best she has ever had.

Ik was blij met Absolutely superb place to stay. Quiet, peaceful, private. Gorgeous sleeping arrangements and a kitchen that was more than fully equipped. The food was AMAZING, particularly the pizza and cinnamon breakfast rolls. Huge expansive views. Shower was lovely, loads of hot water. It's clear that the owners take a huge amount of care and pride in this experience. The kids and dog loved running around and playing in the open space by the tent and I loved having a glass of wine whilst the sun set. Hearing the birds in the morning was a treat and we even had a visiting pheasant that popped in! Overall a truly wonderful experience that I can't recommend highly enough.

The owner was very relaxed and helpful, responding to texts etc quickly.

Cawston is on Marriott's Way (a few minutes' walk from site), a long-distance walking and cycling trail that passes through lots of other attractive villages and market towns like Aylsham (10 minutes' drive) and Reepham (10 minutes). After a stretch of the legs, treat yourself to a restorative coffee and cake in the grounds of a 17th-century stately home at the National Trust-run Blickling Estate (10 minutes), or tour the area vintage-style aboard one of the Bure Valley Railway's steam trains (10 minutes). Once you've got a measure of the local countryside, pack up your towels and head off to the coast – Blakeney (30 minutes) beckons with its birdwatching opportunities and seal colonies, while Salthouse (30 minutes) has peaceful marshes and a pebbly beach to explore. For a spot with some sand, try Cromer (30 minutes) or Sheringham (30 minutes), where there's also an interesting local lifeboat museum. Norwich city centre (25 minutes) is another excellent option and is a centre for shopping, dining and sightseeing. The city's fascinating Norman castle and well-preserved cathedral will likely be the highlights for many, but the town has lots of parks, gardens and quieter streets worth wandering down too.
