Touring East Anglia? Take yourself off the road and tuck yourself into a quiet touring pitch next to the river Wissey. At Grange Farm Touring Park, guests are going about their peaceful business, fishing along the banks and putting their feet up on the grassy pitches after a day of exploring Norfolk. If you’re a boater, it's handy to know that this site also has a boat launch slipway for an additional fee. Otherwise, simply stroll along the riverbank to soak up all the scenery and suss out exactly where you want to go in the area – King’s Lynn, half an hour’s drive away, or Thetford Forest, 10 minutes’ drive away? On the topic of walking, there is a pub, small shop, post office and takeaways in the village of Stoke Ferry, which is within 15 to 20 minutes’ walk of Grange Farm Touring Park. That being said, there’s also a garage with a good mini market directly opposite the site entrance if you need to grab a few morsels as soon as your stomach rumbles. The level grass pitches have access to modern toilet blocks with hot showers and separate accessible facilities. There’s also an outdoor washing-up area, which is likely to be quite handy for cleaning any leftover picnic containers.

  • Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan (zoals de pitbullterriër, tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro). Ik was blij met: Loved being by the river side, managed to get our boards on at the side of the banking.
Was met on site and taken to our pitch. Was given info and told where to go if we needed anything.

Ik was niet zo blij met: No reflection on the site, but the village is very poor, it’s really not worth the walk.
The garage over the road, doesn’t stock alcohol. So make sure you take everything you need or be prepared to drive out of area.

Ik was blij met: Able to pitch right by river, site is well maintained. Showers/toilets very clean. Owners very helpful and friendly. Pitches were level. Wi-Fi available on pitch.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Only 10 amp electricity, but meters were being installed as we left so perhaps the power rating is being increased too.

Ik was blij met: Right on the river - big pitches - warm, clean shower block - lots of walks - good WiFi.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Road was quite noisy - but nothing the hosts could do about that.

Ik was blij met: We liked our pitch next to the river. Pitches are a good size and flat. Wild swimming permitted although there is no graceful way in or out. The wildlife was lovely and we saw and heard a couple of otters frolicking in the river.
The toilet blocks are well thought out, and clean.
Close to some great attractions.

Ik was niet zo blij met: The road is very busy and noisy. Lorries traffic starts up at about 4.30am and there were a lot of motor bikes in to the evening.

Keen on outdoorsy endeavours? With Thetford Forest just a 10-minute drive away, get stuck in… feet first, indeed, if you begin at High Lodge (25 minutes’ drive), where there are Segways for hire and several cycling or hiking trailheads diverting off into the beech, oak and silver birch. High Lodge also organises activities like archery, and there’s a Go Ape Thetford (25 minutes) with zipwires, so take your pick. That should be plenty of family-friendly activities to get on with, but if you're looking for more, a farm park should do the trick: Melsop Farm Park (35 minutes) and Church Farm - Stow Bardolph (15 minutes) both have farm-themed activities. Just a couple of turns of the car will get you to Oxburgh Estate (five minutes) for a totally different day out. The National Trust site has a Victorian garden, a parkland with a chalk river and Victorian Gothic interiors. For another excellent day out, chug along three miles of historic railways on a locomotive from Bressingham Steam & Gardens (40 minutes). When it’s time for some fresh sea breeze, head north to the beaches of Hunstanton (50 minutes) and Heacham (45 minutes), with Norfolk Lavender (45 minutes) and the market town of King’s Lynn (25 minutes) also in the same direction.
