Cartref Camping and Caravan Site

Ik was blij met: Great campsite, very easy to book in, the pitches are brilliant, found the electric set up with the app worked great, the reg recognition for the barrier is much better than the normal key pad that most sites use.
Very convenient for Shrewsbury & Telford.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Nothing to dislike about the site, the only thing for us, because we are walkers, trying to plot local walks is near impossible, even though the footpaths are clearly marked on the latest updated OS maps, lots of footpaths are blocked by local farmers and gardens because.
Shropshire Council, local farmers & wealthy homeowners clearly don't seem to respect the public rights of way act.

Ik was blij met: Site was beautiful. Very well maintained. Nice on-site bar area which served food on a Saturday evening - we did not try the food. Staff very helpful and friendly. Small shop. Site was quiet and a haven for birds. Security barrier for getting in and out. Showers and toilet block very clean. Chemical toilet emptying area well thought out. Loved the knee operated sink - fantastic idea. Small laundry room, which we did not use and small shed with leaflets of local area. Site is in a good location for Shrewsbury and also for exploring Wales/Snowdonia. Wi-fi was good. You get an electricity allowance per day and have to pay for any units used above that - which was reasonable. You do need a smart phone to log on to the electricity app, but it was easy to do.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Although the showers and toilets were exceptionally clean, they were a little basic. Showers were the push button, fixed head, type which could not be held on, you had to keep pushing the button. They were, however, very clean and hot.

Ik was blij met: The site was small and very well kept. Lived the enclosed pitches so it felt like you had your own private space. The attention to detail was good, the little bar and shop with friendly staff was great. Even the chemical toilet cleaning area was impressive!! Great location with some lovely walks near by. Throughly enjoyed the stay.

Ik was blij met: Gorgeous little camp. Adults only which suits us as a couple who have brought up 5 children. Spotlessly clean and well kept. Staff very helpful and friendly. Toilets and showers clean and warm. And a lovely little bar on site. Beautiful countryside and unbelievably quiet. What's there not to like? Looking forward to returning.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Loved everything about the camp. Apart from the distance. Wish it was a bit closer to home in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Ik was blij met: what a lovely site well set out with hedgerows devided the pitches which were fully serviced and electric was set up on an app on your phone so you could check your usage , toilets extremely clean bin area seperate bins chemical waste area well set out and clean , nice bar on site the staff were all friendly and very helpfull

Ik was blij met: Beautifully kept site, lovely and quiet. Pub on site is a great addition and love that we could take our dog with us.
The shower/toilet block was immaculate 👍🏻

Ik was blij met: Fantastic site! The staff were amazing and went above and beyond with service.
They even brought out treats for the dog but as ours is allergic to meat and couldn’t have one, they went and got some of their own dogs vegetarian treats for him and said he could keep them! Amazing.
The bar area is better in person than on the pictures, super friendly, lovely drinks and so cosy with the log burner.
We can’t wait to return in the summer to enjoy the beer garden.
Highly recommend.x
