When you’re looking for peace and simplicity (aka few frills) in rural surroundings, consider a stay at Camping at Manor Organic Farm, 15 minutes’ drive from Loughborough in Leicestershire. Taking over the corner of a field on a family-run farm, the site is a handy couple of minutes’ drive off the road along a well-maintained farm-access track, and is totally secluded from noise or light pollution. Facilities stretch to water from a hose and a simple shower and loo block. This quiet spot is a happily dog-friendly site with a safe, secure canine exercise field (charges apply) and plenty of well-maintained footpaths directly from the farm. If you’re holidaying with animal-mad kids, you can all meet the family goats, horses and rare-breed cattle and sheep in the farmyard. You won’t have to look very far to find gourmet treats, as the farm is home to an organic shop (open Wednesday to Saturday) with a bespoke butchery and bakery, while the local village of Long Whatton (less than five minutes’ walk) has two pubs (one welcomes dogs) that serve food every day. There are supermarkets and a petrol station within 10 minutes’ drive of the campsite, while the towns of Loughborough and Coalville are both about 15 minutes’ drive for shopping sprees, cafés, bars and leisure centres.

Ik was blij met Great setting in a fenced-off area in a bigger field, that housed sheep when we were there. Facilities are basic but incredibly clean and well looked after. Very quiet site!

Ik was niet blij met The only (marginal) thing was the planes taking off at nearby EMA. But as the flights don't run all night this wasn't an issue really. Don't be put off by it, but something to be aware of.

Ik was blij met Everything! The site is small, with a secure fence around so safe for dogs. It’s such a calm and tranquil place with just the sound of sheep as your neighbours. Toilet and shower lovely and clean and the fabulous farm shop is a real treat! Pitches are nice and spacious! Pitch 10 gave me & the pooch the private solitude we were looking for.
Great sunrises over the hill!
Easy walk to nearby pub.
Some reviews mention plane noise but i didn’t notice any!
What a fabulous haven, i didn’t want to leave and cannot wait to return!

Ik was blij met We had a wonderful stay. The views were beautiful, the toilets& showers were clean, some picnic tables were available and we loved being so close to the animals. It was also a lovely touch to be offered breakfast and a hot drink in the morning.

Ik was blij met The self contained field had plenty of space within and was set in great surrounding where you could see some of the animals and wildlife. The pitches have loads of space and are well laid out. The wash facilities were a welcome suprise while being in the middle of a field big plus
The location was close enough to what we wanted to see locally which was ideal.
