  • Small, quiet Leicestershire site 15 minutes’ drive from Loughborough
  • Donington Park Circuit 10 minutes’ drive; Twycross Zoo 25 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches on a farm with a shop and canine-exercise area
When you’re looking for peace and simplicity (aka few frills) in rural surroundings, consider a stay at Camping at Manor Organic Farm, 15 minutes’ drive from Loughborough in Leicestershire. Taking over the corner of a field on a family-run farm, the site is a handy couple of minutes’ drive off the road along a well-maintained farm-access track, and is totally secluded from noise or light pollution. Facilities stretch to water from a hose and a simple shower and loo block. This quiet spot is a happily dog-friendly site with a safe, secure canine exercise field (charges apply) and plenty of well-maintained footpaths directly from the farm. If you’re holidaying with animal-mad kids, you can all meet the family goats, horses and rare-breed cattle and sheep in the farmyard. You won’t have to look very far to find gourmet treats, as the farm is home to an organic shop (open Wednesday to Saturday) with a bespoke butchery and bakery, while the local village of Long Whatton (less than five minutes’ walk) has two pubs (one welcomes dogs) that serve food every day. There are supermarkets and a petrol station within 10 minutes’ drive of the campsite, while the towns of Loughborough and Coalville are both about 15 minutes’ drive for shopping sprees, cafés, bars and leisure centres.

What customers say

Beautiful, quiet campground in a lovely rural spot. Praised for spotless facilities (showers, compost toilets) and friendly staff. The farm shop is a hit! Guests love the level pitches and calm vibe, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Minor M1/plane noise, but generally well-managed. Close to pubs, great for dogs. Many guests plan to return.

Liked We had a wonderful stay. The views were beautiful, the toilets& showers were clean, some picnic tables were available and we loved being so close to the animals. It was also a lovely touch to be offered breakfast and a hot drink in the morning.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Really like the fact that the land was gated and locked at night time with a combination code to exit, a feature that I haven't seen at previous sites.
Firepits were available to use if needed and toilet and shower facilities were clean throughout the stay.

Disliked My only gripe is that the land was huge but the actual pitch spots where you could camp were a very small section which was gated in from the rest of the field. Pitch spots were very close to each other meaning you had to keep any noise or music down or off after 9.30pm. For someone that likes to chill outside at night with some music on this wasn't ideal and other campers were so close and in bed early.
