Secret Escape to the Forest

Ik was blij met: Lovely quiet setting, even had deer visit one night. I was the only guest there the second night but felt safe and secure. Comfy bed all set up. Basic pans, cutlery, dishes etc provided. Great hot shower. Just needed my own towels and toiletries. Would visit again.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Missed the gate twice (my fault not theirs!) But they did say it was secret!

Ik was blij met: The level of communication from kind and friendly owners. Beautiful setting. Stunning accommodation. Log burner and bathroom facilities were wonderful. Very comfortable and cosy bed. Peaceful beautiful surroundings. Just the right size for my young daughter and me.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Got slightly confused at first because the small forest gate instructions made me think that that was the entrance to the shepherds huts but that was mostly my own stupidity ha ha. No other dislikes. Would book again!

Ik was blij met: The shepherds hut was ideal for our stay very lovely and quiet area lovely wooded walks and plenty of R&R. Communication with owners was very straightforward and easy to follow directions. If you are wanting internet access then this is not for you. It was great to be disconnected.

Ik was niet zo blij met: One thing which would make stay a little better would be a little welcome pack of local walks around the wood and area. Also a user guide for the hot plate.

Ik was blij met: Beautiful location. Lovely cabin, clean, comfortable & very well equipped. The way the site is laid out means you have your privacy. Easy booking with clear instructions on where to find site etc.

Ik was blij met: An absolute gem. We had the most perfect stay last weekend. We received further information just before we arrived which included a code through the gate directly into the forest, also if we wished to use the hot tub, which we did. It’s a beautiful location, we did lots of cycling, also walked into Coleford - 30mins, and had lovely cocktails! We will certainly be coming back.

Ik was blij met: Loved the cosy environment! There was an amazing shower and loo to hand. Was great to have some piece and quiet and just have the birds to listen to.

Ik was blij met: Beautiful setting, loads of easily accessible attractions and the shepherds hut was cozy and the bed was super comfy.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Stairs on the hut were slippery when they were wet, and the fridge was extremely small, with only one hob. 'self catering' was a bit of a stretch!

Ik was blij met: We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The shepherd's hut was beautiful and so clean, and communication from the owner was excellent. We loved the hot tub and BBQ and had the best night of sleep we've had in a long time in the hut. As other reviews have noted the WiFi didn't work but we that was perfect for us as it gave us chance to switch off completely. We only stayed for one night but wish we had the time to stay for longer - we'll definitely be booking again in the future!

Ik was blij met: Shepherds hut was absolutely beautiful and really clean inside. Location was great.

Ik was niet zo blij met: There was a mismatch between the website information and confirmation information that caused confusion over what we needed to bring and didn’t need and communication slow to clarify. It resulted in us packing stuff we didn’t need and missing stuff we did. Not the end of the world but a slight spoiler.

Ik was blij met: Lovely, quiet area. Clean and stocked hut. Everything you need to stay warm, cosy and clean! Would stay again.
