Mi è piaciuto This is the second time I've stayed here. The people who own the place are genuinely helpful and nice. I love the setting, and how simple the campsite is, and generally how few people use it!

Non mi è piaciuto Unfortunately, through no fault of the site owners, there were 2 idiots the night we were there who stayed up drinking until midnight being really loud and disturbing. I've chap even moved his tent away from them at 11.30pm. The sad fact is that every time I've not enjoyed a campsite it's always been due to people drinking, staying up late and being so loud that it disturbs everyone else. You never like to go and tell them to be quiet for the risk they turn nasty or abusive. I'm not sure what site owners could do to stop this kind of thing happening, other than banning alcohol (they did enforce the barbecue ban so maybe its not such a wild idea). But it's my biggest dread when booking any campsite, and unfortunately it was realised this time.

Mi è piaciuto Really loved this site. Very minimal, which I loved. Just a field in a valley. Tap water by the gate and bins nearby to get rid of rubbish. Toilet a short walk next to the farm house. That's it. Very quiet, amazing views, will definitely go again.

Non mi è piaciuto No shower, but that's fine because I got one of those portable ones you use with your own bucket.

Mi è piaciuto The setting was very nice, under trees and very green. Plots clearly set out and numbered. I liked the information sent detailing guidelines for using the camp. The late entry system worked well, and check out was simple.

Non mi è piaciuto The camp guidelines emailed through said for there to be no noise after 11. Unfortunately a group of adults opposite me were up drinking and talking until midnight, and kept me awake (I used earplugs but they were too loud) until they'd gone to bed (I'd wanted to be asleep by 10). Then the tent next to me had 2 dogs who started barking at 6am, so the first night's sleep was shot. Maybe you have to expect that kind of thing at these camps but it's not what I want so I probably wouldn't stay somewhere like this again. The next night they stayed up again but the rain on the tent deadened the noise a bit so it was easier to sleep. The toilet block was pretty grotty, and only 2 men's showers for the whole place. All 3 of the sink soap dispensers ran out of soap by Sunday morning. The water dispenser for our area was a dirty length if hosepipe and no sign indicating if it was OK to use as drinking water. No-one I asked knew either so I just boiled it all in case. The site is just across from the M18 so there's a constant background hum of traffic when it's quiet at night. As I say, most people probably wouldn't be bothered by this, and it's my first time using a campsite like this so it's clearly just not for me. Plenty of positive reviews mean others clearly enjoy the place a lot.
