Mi è piaciuto Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. A lovely rural setting with plenty of potential. The location itself is very pleasant and makes for a relaxing stay. The site has the foundations of what could be a really enjoyable place to stay.

Non mi è piaciuto The toilet and shower facilities are quite dated and would benefit from refurbishment. TV signal was poor during our stay. The on-site Wi-Fi was very poor and, at times, didn't work at all. Our main concern was the way an issue regarding charging our hybrid car was handled. I was charging my hybrid car, which has a relatively small battery capacity. I always check the terms and conditions of every site before doing this, as I fully understand that some sites specifically prohibit EV or hybrid charging. Having checked the terms and conditions before our stay, I could not find anything stating that vehicle charging was not permitted. At around 9pm on our first evening, the site owner came to our caravan and demanded that I come outside immediately. When I did, his approach was very aggressive and included foul language. I explained that I had checked the terms and conditions and that there was no mention of charging vehicles being prohibited. Had there been a clear rule stating that charging wasn't permitted, I would have respected it without question. Equally, if I had simply been politely asked to stop charging, I would have had no issue doing so. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled left both myself and my partner feeling uncomfortable and on edge for the remainder of our stay. It's a real shame, as the beautiful surroundings could make this a lovely site, but the experience with the owner significantly affected our overall impression.

Firstly, the ladies’ toilet and shower facilities were newly installed last year and are maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness, so we were rather surprised to see them described as “quite dated and would benefit from refurbishment”. We appreciate that tastes differ, of course, but “dated” does seem a rather unfortunate description for facilities that are, in fact, not 2 seasons old yet. Secondly, we are aware that the Wi-Fi and TV signal can be weak on the campsite, and this is something we are actively looking at improving. However, given our rural location, both mobile and broadband connectivity can be somewhat limited, and this is unfortunately not something that can be entirely overcome by the site itself. In fact we have just completed commissioning of new fibre connection and new WiFi system over the complete site. The same applies to the television signal. We are sorry that this affected your stay, but we do feel it is worth acknowledging that these are, to a significant extent, limitations associated with our location rather than a lack of attention to the facilities we provide. With regards to the issue surrounding EV/hybrid vehicle charging, there is an important distinction to make. Vehicle charging is not a facility provided by the site, and we do not permit guests to use the site’s electricity supply to charge their vehicles. One would not, after all, fill up a normal petrol car using the proprietor’s own fuel for his machinery simply because the site’s terms and conditions did not specifically say “petrol is not provided”. We appreciate that you checked the terms and conditions, but there is actually no facility on this particular website for us to select an option stating that EV charging is prohibited. The absence of a specific restriction is not quite the same thing as an invitation to use a service that has never been offered. Where something is not advertised as a facility, we would suggest that the sensible approach be to ask rather than assume - particularly when it involves using the site’s electricity supply. It is unfortunate that this disagreement overshadowed your enjoyment of the site and its surroundings. We will, however, continue to look at ways of improving the facilities and making the information available to guests as clear as possible.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely site situated next to the canal and close to main roads without traffic noise. Toilets and showers were well maintained and modern. The touch of having radio playing was also nice avoids having to listen to other noises whilst using the facilities. Pitches are a good size and the hard standing isn't too hard making it difficult for pegs to go in.

Non mi è piaciuto The location of the toilet block isn't great. It is central to the caravan pitches but this site offers Camping and has some holiday huts so it means there's a steady stream of people wanting to use these facilities so people are often walking past the caravan. It wasn't hugely busy when we stayed so I imagine if the camping was full it would feel like a slight Invasion of privacy.

Mi è piaciuto Amazing views from field 3. Owners very friendly and kind. Shower and toilet facilities are luxury and the price is great.

Non mi è piaciuto The hardstand pitch was thick in soft stone so getting pegs in for awning was hard, had to scoop down to try and find more solid ground. The water / electricity point was rather far from the pitch, electric cable was long enough but hose wasn't.

Non mi è piaciuto toilets / showers. 3 male and 4 female. They were also fairly cold even given the time of year.

Mi è piaciuto Really nice site in a great location. Lots of water and chemical waste disposal points. The grounds are beautiful and really well maintained. Toilets and showers were very clean and nice hot water in the shower. We didn't try the cafe or food but the pizzas that we say being taken away looked lovely.

Non mi è piaciuto Pool - the pool area is looking quite tired and dated so some investment here is needed. I would also like to see maybe the first hour or last hour of the pool opening times to be for adults only who actually want to swim. The pool is full of children playing which is nice to see but means those who want to swim can't. A couple of site rules didn't seem to be enforced mainly cars on pitches and quiet hours past 10pm. I personally don't mind noise until 10:30pm but if you have site rules they need to be enforced otherwise it's pointless having them.
