They are currently in administration and our only on one day a week.

Where do I start....

I understand we had to pay for electricity but we had to guess the usage as the day we arrived was Saturday the only day the pub was open to get it and woulnt be open to get anyone untill next Saturday. Like I said to the lass behind the bar how are we supposed to know what we are going to use she understood what we was trying to say. So we bought a few cards in hope they would last us.
There was no contact number to get any more if we need this this caused us unnecessary stress.

The pub is not open or serving food anymore this needs to be update on pitchup.com.

They have toilets and shower. They are not cleaned every day or stocked up with toiletries only on a Saturday once a week. We had to buy our own toilet roll. The showers are cold i tryed to report this but nothing was sorted. Very dirty moody floors. One toilet was blocked in the lady's toilets was like this the hole time we was there. So was only left with one working toilet.

There is washing facilities but still no hot water.

Lighting on the camp site. Their was none very dangerous when having to go to the toilet at night.

It was so boggy on the grass where we had to park our car got stuck and had to be towed out.

I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone.

Being called gypsies by the locals!

Looked lovely when booking, would never return! Went into the pub for a quiet drink and 2 of the locals was chatting saying how they thought the pub was shutting down, the other man turned and looked at us and said its probably because of the gypsies! Not a friendly site or clean

What's to like

£70+ for 2 nights in practically a pub car park, one member of staff, electric kept running out, no food serving and prices was too high, toilet block was dirty and pitch black to walk to in the night with young children, people's dogs let loose and run around everywhere

Pub didn't serve food, only one member of staff to run the pub and Campsite although she herself was lovely! Price of electricity I have never seen before £20 for 2 nights and we barely had anything on. Wouldn't return if it was free

The price of electricity was ridiculous! We had to keep topping up as it kept running out. £25 for 2 nights which most of the time we spent outside of the caravan!

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Large hard standing serviced pitches and nice toilets and very quiet. Dani who manages the site couldn’t have been more helpful. We really liked the village. We visited a couple of the pubs and they were really nice, both 10 minutes walk away. The pub beside the campsite is closed at present but they hope to see it reopened soon. So thanks and hopefully we shall return soon. Ps it’s very easy access to M1 15 minutes and no access problem even with a fairly large caravan.

Pub not serving food, toilets disgusting, broken toilet seat in gents and the urinal was blocked and overflowing.

Location

Small pitch size, charged £5 a day to put a awning up but would have had to park the car in the awning to fit. If you've paid for a pitch why should you pay extra to put an awning on it. Inadequate facilities, only told the pub was no longer serving food the day before we travelled. To late to alter booking. The urinal in the toilets was blocked, told not really blocked just takes a long time to drain. Someone
eventually put sign on it saying it was out of order. Complained the block was filthy, nothing done until the Sunday when part of the floor was mopped, but the sinks, the window ledges and the filthy chair in the shower were not touched.
