If the first thing you want to do in the morning on holiday is head straight to the beach, you’ve come to the right place…Ohai Conil Outdoor Resort is the closest resort to the sea in all of Conil de la Frontera, as it’s all of five minutes’ walk from Cala Del Aceite beach. Access to the facilities is completely free – including the gym, playground, beach volleyball and soccer courts and games like pétanque and table tennis. Even the summer-season entertainments, kids’ club and youth club (with Playstations and various games) are thrown in for no extra cost… You may think that excellent collection of facilities sounds like it leaves little space for relaxation, but that’s not the case at all. In fact, pitches here are super-sized: each one measures 80-100 square metres, with a mix of shade and sun and access to water and electricity. And all of this is part of a site that’s completely surrounded by nature for that peaceful, private atmosphere. Beach picnics or meals at your pitch may well be on the menu – but if you don’t fancy doing any meal prep, you can leave that to the team at the restaurant (which serves up a variety of Andalusian dishes) or the bar (where family favourites feature on the menu).

Attrazioni nelle vicinanze

The easiest way to plan local adventures is to sort them out on site – staff at reception can rent you bikes or put you in touch with companies for days of kayaking, windsurfing and jetskiing. Conil de la Frontera is also a well-known surf spot, so bring your board along or ask the site staff to help you organise surf lessons. Conil de la Frontera’s beach is well worth a visit – and so is the town itself, with narrow streets full of tapas bars and whitewashed houses. Look out for landmarks like the Guzman Tower and Santa Caterina Church as you wander. There are plenty of other lovely towns to explore nearby too – a trip to Cádiz will take you about 45 minutes in the car, for example, while the sherry-producing settlements of Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Jerez de la Frontera are both about an hour away. If it’s beaches you’re after, try Los Caños de Meca, which can be reached within half an hour.
