Mi è piaciuto Lovely peaceful campsite with everything you might need and charming animals roaming around.
Great location, clean facilities.
Our yurt was spacious with much needed fire inside.
We loved our stay!

Mi è piaciuto The site was very well appointed and the facilities were excellent. The operators of the site were very relaxed but uphold the highest of standards. The toilets and showers were clean and tidy and I loved the fact that the showers were solar powered. It really was a wonderful stay and it proved rather near to everywhere we wanted to go. Would 100% come back. Thank you to the proprietors for keeping a really excellent campsite.

Mi è piaciuto This is the best site to camp on Bodmin moor, the site has fire pits, showers, play barn, farm birds, play park and great access to the moor.

Mi è piaciuto Beautiful campsite. It's quite remote, but has all the facilities you'd need. Campfires are allowed, which is a camping luxury on a site. We were in the dog field alone, so we could pitch anywhere.
There is a dog walking field, and plenty of bins dotted about the field (actually justifying an extra dog charge for a change).
Campfire stew and Dutch oven can be rented, which is a lovely addition!

There's a nice pub, about 30 minutes walk from the site, which was a good excuse to go out for a walk in the rain.

Safe to say, we will certainly be back!

Mi è piaciuto The location is beautiful with well maintained pitches. All the amenities are very clean. I do a lot of moto camping and will definitely be going back! Staff were welcoming and all that for £11 a night!

Wish we lived closer so could stay every weekend.

Mi è piaciuto The pitch location and site layout were good. Plenty of opportunity for privacy with little nooks of grass here and there to pitch on. Good clean toilet and shower facilities cleaned every morning. Playground and indoor barn area for children to play in.
Really nice campsite.
Really good location for access to Torquay and Eden Project. Maybe not if you wanted to see some of the more southern areas of Cornwall but I was really happy with the location.
Pitches were pretty level and staff were friendly.

Non mi è piaciuto Lack of staff presence is the only issue but ended up making quite a big impact. Reception only really manned for an hour at either end of the day and then campers are left to their own devices. This wouldn't usually bother me but the lack of staff meant that a single large group was able to ruin the entire experience. I can't remember whether the site says it's quiet from a certain time (although I wouldn't have booked it if it wasn't) but if it is, then it is not enforced at all.
The adults were playing loud music until around 10:30pm no staff presence on site.
They had around 5/6 kids with them. The children were in the play barn until after 10 at night shouting, swearing, throwing and breaking stuff. Jumping on the picnic table and admittedly generally being kids, I accept everyone wants to relax but the adults had no idea what their children were up to. As a parent with a 4yo this was a problem. I wasn't familiar with the site but it turns out that although I was camped quite a way from their tents, I was pretty much at the side of the barn. After a 6h drive to Cornwall this was not what I needed.
Same kids washing their bikes two days on the trot in the pot wash leaving it all a mess. They used the provided washing up liquid and left it all over the wooden decking making it slippery. They took the toilet roll to dry their bikes.
The pot wash is also at the entrance to the only toilet block which was blocked by the kids and bikes with water and soap everywhere.
Although there is a playground and the indoor barn, with the rest in mind, I'm not sure I would say the site is family friendly for camping with young children.
If the large group hadn't been there then 100% I would stay here again. The rest was fine but I think the likelihood of another large group ruining it would be high as there is still no-one there to stop them.
Worth noting that for me there was almost no phone signal (Giffgaff). Not a huge issue other than planning the following days stuff and getting e-tickets together etc.

I appreciate you taking the time to leave this review. We’re glad that you liked the site and facilities but I’m incredibly sorry that your holiday was unfortunately ruined by one group of campers. This is very rare for our site as we are a quiet, family friendly site and 99% of the time, our campers respect this.

The behaviour outlined in your review is unacceptable. We apologise that we were not aware of this on the first night but were informed the following day and we spoke to the group straight away to ensure this wouldn't happen again. Had we of known this was happening on the first night, we would of course have enforced it then too. Safe to say, this group will not be staying with us again. I understand that reception closed at 8pm but there is a phone number to call if any issues and this would definitely be something we’d want to be made aware of.

In reply to phone signal, there is free Wi-Fi available in the barn and we will be sure to write up some more signage to make sure this is clearly known.

I do hope you still managed to enjoy exploring around Cornwall and we would love to welcome you back.

Mi è piaciuto A beautiful and peaceful spot, I loved the privacy the pitches have and the free roaming animals. Great views of the stars when it’s a clear night. The farm’s own minty lamb burgers are so good on the bbq too! I bought another batch to take home with me! Solar powered showers worked great and there’s plenty of hot water. Will definitely be returning.
