Clifftop Camping

Mi è piaciuto: Incredible views over the Thames estuary, you are able to see sunrise and sunset from your pitch (weather depending!). Proper off grid style, camp where you want and with so much space, you can guarantee privacy. There were also fire pits dotted about which you can use, I believe fire wood is available to buy on site too. Owner was friendly, and overall this is just the sort of place we love to camp at.

Non mi è piaciuto: Although elsan points are not listed as available, this would be a nice option to have, even if you had to pay a surcharge to use it. As it was, the compost toilets were fine and we emptied the cassette toilet when at home. The road in was fairly bumpy, probably not so much an issue to cars/vans but if you have a touring caravan it's more of a concern. Just take it slow!

Mi è piaciuto: A perfect site. The views are spectacular, compostable toilets and a tap. Possibly one of the best sites I have ever stayed at.

Mi è piaciuto: Beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere. Lots of space.

Non mi è piaciuto: Someone had misused the compost toilets over the weekend- we arrived on the Sunday and it was a mess- I love a compost toilet but this put me right off. A group of people had been using the woods as a toilet also. Can’t blame the site but why would people do this? It’s such a shame. Spoilt what would have otherwise been a lovely break. I feel sorry for the owner who will have to clear up their mess. Made me a bit nervous about revisiting. Which is a shame as it is a lovely site.

Mi è piaciuto: Amazing views, quiet and plenty of space between campers. Such a big area. Fresh eggs from the farm for breakfast. Love the baby calves next to the tap area

Non mi è piaciuto: Tap area was a bit muddy, would of been nice hard standing area.

Mi è piaciuto: Stunning location, all that we need. friendly and relaxed owner, who clearly has great appreciation for their land, camp ground very well kept, tidy, and litter free. Offering exactly what they say they do. A tap, and toilet facilities, but most importantly a relaxed calm and quiet site to enjoy the view.

Mi è piaciuto: Cliff top location, lovely to see the sea in the morning. Very helpful welcoming hostess. Free to lay an open fire, so our 9 yr old toasted marshmallows… first time ever!

Non mi è piaciuto: Awful coastline/beach : muddy, silty, oily. Not too easy to reach unless you’re in scrambling shoes. It’s supposed to be a marvellous prehistoric fossil location however.

Mi è piaciuto: The owners were friendly and the camping area was clean and peaceful with beautiful view’s. There were also a couple of raised fire pits to use.

Non mi è piaciuto: I understood that this is a working farm, however I would not expect my car to be damaged by the animals. Whilst talking to one of the owners on my way out and waiting for the gate to be opened the dogs jumped into my car barking in my face and left mud and scratches on my car. This was not acknowledged by the owner even though it happened directly in their view and I did not realise until later that day. Considering this I cannot give the good review I would have otherwise given.
