Farm and Fell Campsite

Mi è piaciuto Absolutely loved it here, seeing the animals and getting to stroke them. Loved the highland cow 'tilly' and the other cows were so cute....The views were amazing and probably the best view we've seen so far.

Non mi è piaciuto Campsite was amazing however if your not a fan of spiders the toilets are full of them..
And could do with a sink in the loos as there is only one washing up sink there, so if someone is washing up you have to wait to wash your hands

Central for lots of different walks
Close to shops
Close to the river
Clean and warm showers
3 different locations of toilets
Lots of animals the children loved being able to interact with them.
Lots of pitches available in different sizes and different areas depending on your preference.
We loved our stay and we will 100% be returning.

Mi è piaciuto - Lots of options of where to pitch up to choose from
- Nice field down by the river as the furthest option
- Great location for walks
- Owners came round offering logs of wood

Non mi è piaciuto When we visited it was booked out to what felt like over capacity. Hundreds of people cramped in. We have two dogs and like to have space so they can settle but had people within 1 metre of our pitch. There didn’t seem to be any specified spots or even a limit to how many people were allowed to book.
If choosing the further fields, there are two portaloo’s and the showers / washing up station are a good 15minute walk from the furthest pitch we chose.

Mi è piaciuto Showers and toilets clean with hot running water. Small wash area for dishes. Could stroke Highland cattle, pigs and veal, I mean baby cows. Friendly reception with small shop with bits and bobs. 20 min walk into Town of £6 Uber.

Mi è piaciuto We staying in the river field and we couldn't fault the site at all!

Love being directly next to the river, the freedom to choose your own spot instead of being told where to go, and just how peaceful the whole place was!

Non mi è piaciuto Toilets/showers are a bit basic. For the size of the site, I feel more showers / toilets would be better.

Dal gestore: The number of toilets and showers is dictated by the Yorkshire Dales National Park planning authority who don’t like campsites in the national park, so it’s a constant battle to provide affordable camping for the hardworking majority of people on a budget.

It’s a vicious cycle. The national park make campsite applications difficult, less campsites open, so we get mobbed in busy times. We could just turn families away and say we’re full - but we ask everyone for a little patience and understanding to try and accommodate more families.

We don’t put bins on the campsite because the amount of rubbish left is ridiculous when we do. Instead we come around the campsite at 0900hrs and 1030hrs to collect rubbish directly from each pitch.

All rubbish is recycled by the skip company after collection.
