Farm and Fell Campsite

Mi è piaciuto It is in a great location. A short walk to Sedbergh, and lots of local walks. There are animals on the farm to look at.

Non mi è piaciuto There were only 2 showers which was nowhere near enough. They were hot at first but quickly went cold. There were 3 clean toilets plus some very dirty portable toilets. There was often no toilet roll in the toilets. The only sink was for both washing hands and dishes.

Dal gestore: Here we have a camper who booked a pitch in the wood field that unambiguously advertises portaloos only.

The wood field portaloos were cleaned on the day they arrived. August Bank Holiday was very wet, so of course people had mud on their boots. If you book a grass pitch and it rains heavily, mud will increase.

We visit every pitch on the site 8 times a day. Not once were we made aware of any problems with the toilets all weekend.

Regarding (free) showers. When you look to use the facilities at peak periods on a Bank Holiday, they’re going to be under pressure. In previous years we’ve hired in 8 mobile showers and had exactly the same feedback. The problem isn’t the showers, it’s people who come to the countryside (in a drought) and expect water pressure of urban infrastructure to support their lack of patience and forward planning.

Finally, value for money. Free showers, free fire pits, porcelain toilets, mains water…..if anyone can find a comparable campsite within a 10 miles radius for £30 a pitch, I’ll give them 2027 camping for free.

Mi è piaciuto Hmm . Location is excellent, shower facilities excellent. Toilet facilities good but have no sanitary bins for ladies . The ground to wood fire camp site part was horrendous, people's cars sliding everywhere trying to get down and up the hill, quite dangerous actually!! A man actually came of his motorbike too trying to get down it , ( granted it was obviously forecast for wet weather ) but you still expect to be able to get ur vehicle safely up and down a hill for a camp site you pay for and not risk going into other vehicles or the fields beside it.

Non mi è piaciuto Good for 4x4s but not so much for cars in that particular part of the campsite . Nice and quiet . Get to hear the pigs, cows and sheep beside you ! Big cute highland cow too in field ! Didn't avail of camp fire pit as the weather was too bad however did have one behind the car which was great . If weather was dry and nice , getting up and down to wood fire camp site pitch would have been absolutely excellent however there's nothing in place for when it's really bad weather and your car will get absolutely stinking !!! Be aware of this !!!

There was 15 acres available to camp in (other than the main field) for 30 pitches 1/2 an acre each….,on August Bank Holiday.

You choose your own pitch. The weather delivered exactly what was forecast - torrential rain and thunder. If you ended up somewhere unsuitable, why did you choose it?

As soon as the first heavy rain shower happened, we opened the access through the yard for the remainder of the weekend, visited every pitch and made everyone aware in case they hadn’t noticed.

Not one phone call of a car stuck all weekend - because there were none. There were a few occasions of people driving too fast and revving too hard - but that isn’t the campsites fault.

If someone fell off their motorbike, they maybe need to reflect if they were riding within their availability.

In summary, a 3/10 for heavy rain on a bank holiday. Fair weather campers should have stayed at home.

Mi è piaciuto Beautiful location and lovely farm setting. Loved that you could have a campfire and the wood was brought round, also rubbish collected in the morning. Children’s play area really good and animals were fab.

Non mi è piaciuto Toilets were not very pleasant (porta-loos) with no hand sanitiser. Other main toilets didn’t have proper hand washing facilities. A long walk to the nearest tap (from the wood field).

Mi è piaciuto Everything was great. Laid back pop up site, toilets and showers, washing up area, and the ANIMALS!!! Highland cows, goats, sheep, pigs, horses, cows and even spotted a cat! Lovely walk into Sedbergh to local shops and pubs and pizza takeaway. Close to a river with nice walks.

Non mi è piaciuto Absolutely nothing, it does exactly what it says on the advert, basic site, basic facilities but everything you need.

Mi è piaciuto Absolutely loved it here, seeing the animals and getting to stroke them. Loved the highland cow 'tilly' and the other cows were so cute....The views were amazing and probably the best view we've seen so far.

Non mi è piaciuto Campsite was amazing however if your not a fan of spiders the toilets are full of them..
And could do with a sink in the loos as there is only one washing up sink there, so if someone is washing up you have to wait to wash your hands

Clean and warm showers
3 different locations of toilets
Lots of animals the children loved being able to interact with them.
Lots of pitches available in different sizes and different areas depending on your preference.
We loved our stay and we will 100% be returning.

Mi è piaciuto - Lots of options of where to pitch up to choose from
- Nice field down by the river as the furthest option
- Great location for walks
- Owners came round offering logs of wood

Non mi è piaciuto When we visited it was booked out to what felt like over capacity. Hundreds of people cramped in. We have two dogs and like to have space so they can settle but had people within 1 metre of our pitch. There didn’t seem to be any specified spots or even a limit to how many people were allowed to book.
If choosing the further fields, there are two portaloo’s and the showers / washing up station are a good 15minute walk from the furthest pitch we chose.
