Perfect if you like a tranquil camp site

Mi è piaciuto Beautiful, quiet site with gorgeous surroundings. Everyone was respectful of each other, dogs stayed on leads and sound from the bar was at a minimum, which made for a really relaxing stay.
Non mi è piaciuto The toilet/shower block was a bit of a walk from the tent pitches, it wouldn’t put me off returning though.

Mi è piaciuto Fantastic Stay – Everything You Need for a Peaceful Night at the Lakes
From the moment we pulled up to the site, we were warmly greeted by the staff at reception who couldn’t have been more helpful, kind, and welcoming. They provided clear and easy-to-follow instructions on where to pitch up for the night, which made getting settled in stress-free.
The pitch itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and level—perfect for parking up the campervan without any hassle. Hooking up to the electric and water was incredibly straightforward, with all the necessary facilities conveniently located and easy to access.
The wash facilities were excellent—large, clean, and well-maintained. It’s clear that care and attention go into keeping the site in top condition. The location was absolutely beautiful and ideal for families, with a dedicated children’s play area that was safe and well thought out.
What really stood out was how peaceful the site was. Everyone staying there was respectful, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere that really helped us unwind. The WiFi signal was strong throughout our stay, which was an added bonus and worked without any issues.
We had a great night’s sleep and left feeling refreshed. The site had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in the Lakes. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to others looking for a well-run, family-friendly, and tranquil place to stay.

Quiet but dangerous site,

Very Clean Site, groundsman works hard.
Toilets and showers clean, nice warm water.
The resident ducks.
Nice canal over the main road if you fancy a walk, but this road is dangerous to cross due to speeding cars.
Non mi è piaciuto Very dangerous site, safety wise if you have children, very steep drops with no safety barriers, into fast following river. ( would not recommend this site to people with children accident waiting to happen.)
Onsite pub closed despite reception being open, onsite shop also closed,
( advertised as being open until 6pm, this is a lie ), only seems to open when the man owner can be bothered.
Very dangerous main road if you want to walk off site, a national speed limit road, you take your life into your own hands to try and cross.
No information given about the site or local area despite telling the man on reception we have not visited before.
This site shop and pub could be nice little earners but man on reception said he was to busy to open them.
Constant noise of motorbikes screaming up main road of an evening.
Nothing onsite for children, apart from a pump tap, pumping dirty muddy water.

Mi è piaciuto The site is quiet and small. The ladies facilities were ok/clean.
Non mi è piaciuto The men’s toilet block was dirty and in need of a clean (dirty sinks, toilets and showers). The elsan point was old/in need of updating/repairing.

Fab stay

Mi è piaciuto Everything. This fab little site has a bar, reception and shop. The Toilet and shower block has all been re done and looks amazing.
You have the stream at one side and the beck at the other making for a nice little walk on a nice day. There's crooklands hotel next door if you fancy a meal out and just across the road you can find the Canal towpath for plenty of walks with stunning scenery.
Even made friends with the woman on the next plot to me, we have had a brilliant few days away.

Dal gestore: Thank you for your comments ,but we feel they are incorrect.. Our bar is open until 6pm Monday to Wednesday. Thursday we are open until 8 pm Friday all day until late, Saturday ,we reopen at 8pm until late ,and Sunday until 8pm.A local hotel is within 300 yds if one requires a drink when we are not open.
Our ladies toilet block has been fully refurbished over winter to the highest modern standards, and the gents due shortly. ..Please see our many 10/10 reviews. Thank you.
