France is first continental European destination for outdoor holiday specialist, Pitchup.com - 11 sites added

Outdoor holiday specialist Pitchup.com has added 11 locations in France to its extensive roster of destinations throughout Great Britain and Ireland, the first time continental European pitches have been offered on the site.

The newly-available French sites are located along the coast and across the countryside, with several boasting locations in the heart of wine and cognac regions around Nantes, Bordeaux and the Dordogne.

Dan Yates, founder of Pitchup.com commented on the expansion: "Our current clients have led the expansion as it’s something that customers have been requesting almost since the day we launched Pitchup.com. Therefore by introducing destinations across France we are able to extend the season and introduce our clients to new places to spend their holidays. France is the perfect choice for our first overseas offering as it is the biggest camping destination in Europe with approximately 70% more sites than the UK and three times the number of pitches. It’s also easily accessible by air, train and sea from much of the UK. Given that over 8 million Brits holiday in France each year we’re looking at a fantastic opportunity to offer them greater choice of accommodation by adding camping into the equation."

Prices start from as little as £36 per night based on accommodation at Domaine de Kerlann near Finistere, Brittany.  This family fun site is ideal for families, with a range of facilities including a free kids’ club, football tournaments, five outdoor playgrounds, indoor and outdoor pools and a splash zone. In peak season there is also boules, crazy golf, tennis, sumo wrestling and jousting!  Accommodation is in mobile homes which sleep up to six people. The homes come fully furnished with a well equipped kitchen, lounge, two bedrooms and shower room/toilet.

Other parks offer similar styles of accommodation and facilities.

The French sites offer either caravan or holiday home accommodation and Yates says plans are in place to add more sites: "As the season progresses we’ll expand the French product range. We’re in discussions with a number of parks throughout France to offer a greater choice of locations throughout this beautiful country."
