A aimé Small site with everything we needed for our stay. Mini kitchen was provided and everything was spotless. The owner was lovely and provided information about the local area. The views to the Abbey are great and pitches were large and flat. It’s walking distance to Malmesbury for shops, pubs and restaurants.

A aimé Good sized pitches with hedges. Excellent shower block, sparkling clean. We went into their pub one night for food and it was good. Lovely walks for the dogs.

N'a pas aimé Toilets were not great, too few for the amount of tents on site. Not cleaned enough. Same with showers. There are 2 blocks but 5 toilets doesn’t seem enough. Had a cream tea from the reception which was good. We were told it’s a no music site when we had the radio on low at 8pm, which was funny as we could barely hear it over the noise from screaming kids and families. We didn’t mind the camping noise but felt the music telling off was not reasonable. Very close to busy main road.

A aimé Feels like a new site with new shower block. No reception but we were given the barrier code so that was fine. 2 showers that feel like en-suites and really high standard. The pitches are flat and it’s all very open so no landscaping in place yet.

A aimé Big pitches set in a lovely location. Toilets and showers were great and really clean. Nice shop if you needed anything. Staff were friendly and helpful.

A aimé Very well looked after site. Great check in info. The site is spotless and toilet and shower block was really good. The river side had picnic benches and we look forward to coming back in the summer when we can sit out.

A aimé Great location, peaceful in a beautiful setting. Clean toilets and showers. Owner very friendly and helpful on arrival. loads of space for the caravan and we could park so we were facing the lovely woods.

N'a pas aimé Very disappointed with our stay. At best the site is scruffy and not clean, at worst it is a health and safety risk. All our comments were raised with the manager (bar) during our stay and another manager at the end of the stay who at least wrote down the list of issues we had. our main concern was with the lack of Elson point for toilet waste we asked 2 different members of staff on different occasions as we could not believe that it was to be emptied behind a camouflage tent arrangement into the open soil. this is illegal as far as we could see. the second manager did say that there was another point where it could be emptied into a drain, but there was no signage and the path ran along the back of the farm and did not look usable. the electrics were run off took hook ups with all those wanting electric being linked to those. we counted three extensions for one hook up. the electric tripped whilst we were trying to cook dinner and only had a single griddle on. it took them a while to sort out which spoilt dinner. I asked how they could charge so much at £60 per night for a caravan pitch and was told it was because we had access to the restaurant! the hot tub was not working as it had tripped the electrics, and you could not see past the first rung in the swimming pool so we did not risk getting in. They also had a extension cable lying face down in water that was plugged in to the children's slide. We did not see anyone clean up the outside area, cushions were left where they were thrown, planters had the odd flower in amongst the weeds. It looks unloved with one of the gazebo tops missing. The toilet by the pool, one of only 3 that flush has gaps in the door so you can see people on it at night. There are not enough toilets and shows on the site and there was a question in the morning and 1 was already blocked. The entrance for caravans is through the farm and has deep rutted path. Disgusted with our experience and the lack of response at the time from the bar manager who was the only person around until we left. Don't be mislead by the amazing photos on their website like we were.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank you for leaving a review, we do welcome all feedback and I was glad to have the opportunity to speak to you face-to-face: as I said to you at the time, we are always glad to have an opportunity to talk through any issues in person and I am sorry I did not have a chance to follow up by email before your review was posted online. Needless to say, we are extremely sorry and disappointed that your experience did not meet your expectations, as we want all guests to leave us happy and rested from their stay. We have followed up your concerns with our team to take away the learning points and put in place improvements. As I explained, we do have an Elson point for toilet waste. I apologise this information was not passed on correctly, and that you were directed to the wrong waste point. I agreed with you that this detail needs to be included in our welcome information and it has now been added. We provide electric hook up for light use only, such as charging mobile devices and lighting, and we perhaps have not made this clear enough in our marketing as griddles, pizza ovens and the like are unsuitable. In future, we will remove electric hook up as an option. The gazebo cover had been removed as ripped, and a replacement (which was on order) was installed within 24 hours of your departure. There is no excuse for communal areas looking untidy and unloved, and I am sorry we were not able to maintain our usual high standards during your stay. We had not known about the gaps in the toilet door until you mentioned it to me: we recently installed some new brighter lighting and, with natural shrinkage of the wooden door which had been newly made and installed, this led to unwanted exposure! The gaps in the panels were sealed within 6 hours of your departure and there is no issue now. The lazy spa hot tub is for pre-booking only, and available for three sessions per day as it requires careful cleaning and monitoring: minor outages or power surges can trip the settings quite easily and disrupt temperature levels. It then takes an age for the temperature to climb back up. The hot tub is not available for people to use on an ad hoc basis, that would be unhygienic. The swimming pool has a salt water cleaning and sand filter system: we follow a regular cleaning regime, it is monitored throughout the day, and measured at least twice a day to ensure it is hygienic, safe and risk free. Without doubt we had a number of operational issues over the weekend of your stay, and I apologise sincerely that this impacted your experience. We have since taken decisive action on staffing, training and operational management and will continue striving to improve in all areas of our business. My hard standing pitches are a standard size and people seem to find them large enough unless you are wanting a large awning to put up when I would recommend either my grass pitches or indeed the CL site.
