A aimé This is quite a rural site and very quiet, there are 5 fishing ponds and there seem to be a lot of big fish. Its a unmanned site but does have daily checks. To be honest given the warm weather we were surprised how few people were there especially with the fishing. Enjoyed our stay and would encourage people to visit. No wifi but good vodafone 4g -

N'a pas aimé Something I took up with a lady on a buggy was why there are no rubbish bins on the site and the only two industrial bins are by the entrance which is approximately 350 yds + from the upper pitches, I gathered its because the binmen wont go onto the site.

A aimé level pitch's, site kept neat and tidy,

N'a pas aimé A41 road noise can be intrusive depending on wind direction and while a minor thing the combination lock on the gate (which could see from our pitch) is a pain to use and having seen several people struggling with it that's not just us.

A aimé the site was flat, grass well trimmed and pitch's a good size, it is a very popular pub, good vodafone signal, no interference from owners or warden, seems popular with overnight motorhomes

N'a pas aimé we found traffic noise from the A37 intrusive ,minor gripes are having the one water outlet on the actual pitch's capped off awaiting water board approval apparently, so you have to walk to the shower block & wifi very weak

A aimé a nice site, very few on the touring pitch's for some reason, cost was £25 + EHU, friendly staff and minimal road noise

N'a pas aimé no real wifi so used the decent vodafone 4g signal

Réponse du gestionnaire : We have so much to offer and you have enjoyed much of it which we would hope would out weigh any negatives. The ANPR can be sensitive to some registrations but it is a necessary system to help maintain park security. There is always someone around to assist outside of office hours. Security of our guests and their property is important to us so apologies if it was being a little temperamental with your vehicle registration.

A aimé the site is well maintained with friendly owners, the shower block is in the centre of the main site, there is a keycode barrier and privacy hedges between most pitch's and free wi-fi. We had a meal at The Brewers Arms and it was really nice.

N'a pas aimé The only two small gripes are there is road noise from the nearby A1071 and without the managers discount the pitch fee would have been more than we normally pay

A aimé site is well layed out and has security code for sliding gate,the showers are nice,staff are friendly,pitchs level

N'a pas aimé road noise both from the M56 and A540 which runs past the site is constant,there is nothing for children to do,the horrendous smell of muck spreading which is obviously outside of the sites control but isnt pleasant,all that said this is a popular site but I wont return

We are sited where we are at a great place for visiting Chester the Wirral and North Wales, sadly there is a road close by which some people notice more than others. We aren't a holiday park which provides entertainment for your children, however we have plenty of open space for children to play. As you have said the muck spreading in the nearby fields is out of our control, so there is nothing we can do about that unfortunately, it is just that time of year for farmers to do there job. A aimé nice site with plenty of lakes for fishing,friendly staff,electric and wifi included,adult only and quite a reasonable cost,level gravel pitchs

N'a pas aimé road noise,what looks like a little used country road right behind the pitchs is a very well used short cut from first to last thing,pidgeons that tango across your roof from about 6am-recommend earplugs if your a light sleeper

A aimé A nice rural site with huge pitchs and very helpful owner,as its a bit off the beaten track they also do a meet and greet if you phone ahead.Large modern toilet/shower block and unmetered EHU's,no wifi but reasonable phone signals on 02 and vodaphone seeing as you are out in the sticks.

A aimé The site is adult only and has a large lake at its centre surrounded by grass pitches .The owners are friendly and accomodating giving you a choice of pitchs and show them to you to let you choose and explain the EHU meter which is card operated and you pay for both your pitch and electric on departure,the electric card is charged with £20 and you load it into the meter,if you need extra you can get it topped up and if you have credit left you can ‘recharge’ it back to the card for a refund,after years of inclusive EHU the cost of electric now is a bit of an eye opener as we used about £5 per day with the heating on for a couple of hours in the morning and about 4+ hours in the evening.The EHUs are spaced all the way round but a long lead can be required. The toilet blocks are to a high standard having been recently refurbished and they are scattered round this large site for for easy access,obviously with a large lake there is a lot of people going for the fishing.The site is off a main road so access is great but the longish road from it into the site is narrow so you wouldnt want to meet another caravan/motorhome hence the staggered dept/arrival times ,Noise wise because its rural its quiet,the main road is sufficently far enough away that traffic noise is muted bar the odd motorbike etc.its also dog friendly.They intend to apply for a drinks license so hopefully next season the bar should be open.Entry is by fob operated barrier and there are no lights round the site so a torch is handy.Thoroughly recommended.

A aimé allowed to pick your own pitch,toilets immaculate and professionally cleaned daily,barrier access with code,small shop,pretty quiet especially now kids gone back to school in the week,water taps spread out in between pitches,pods on outside of site look nice,laundry room,friendly staff,reasonable price,free wifi

N'a pas aimé slightly sloping pitches and broken ground hard standings - road to site narrow in places with few tight bends and speed humps

A aimé The site has a restaurant/bar so first off when you travel along Florence road look for the Engine House as that is sign posted where Compton Park isn't. The site has 3 tiers with gravel hard standings separated by grass and is quite high up so some nice views. There is some grass area for none electric tents but was mostly caravan/motor homes (one tent). The toilet block is a 3 year old modern wooden structure with 4 x shower/ toilet/ sink cubicles and a separate toilet cubicle and pot washing station. There is a waste shed with recycling bins and nearby a single water tap, for some reason the chemical waste is situated in the alley next to the restaurant rather than the toilet block. The restaurant opens every day for breakfast/ lunch but apart from fri/sat( 8. 30pm) closes about teatime, we had a meal and it was nice, this is where you book in on arrival. There is a house on site where I assume the owners live. Rate wise it was a very reasonable £17 per night BUT ehu was £4. 50 a night even so overall still a good rate these days. Callington itself is a about 1. 5 miles away and has a large tesco/B&M and some shops. Possibly because it was out of school holidays there were no children on site and apart from a small playground next to the Engine House there isn't a lot for them. It is a quiet country site although there are cars (and occasional visiting motorbikes) to the restaurant but its a hundred yards away so you don't really hear them. There are no lights on site so take a torch for loo visits.
