South Lakes site is fastest growing campsite says Pitchup.com

Fév 16 2015 Posté par Samantha Marsh

Outdoor accommodation specialist Pitchup.com has named Moss Side Farm Campsite in Broughton-in-Furness as the fastest growing site in Cumbria.

The figures, compiled from Pitchup.com’s bookings for 1,050 camping and caravan sites throughout the UK and Europe, show Moss Side Farm Campsite performed well in 2014 bringing in 317 bookings overall, and so far this year the site has already taken 45 bookings, showing the site’s impressive growth. With just 12 pitches in total plus a glamping option in the form of three converted railway carriages, these are pretty impressive statistics.

Dan Yates, founder of Pitchup.com, commented: “The Lake District is the most popular search on our site and with 1.4m searches for holidays in the north west last year it’s not hard for us to fill places like Moss Side Farm Campsite.  Especially as the site is so well maintained by the owners.  We have no doubt that the numbers at Moss Side Farm will continue to grow year on year.  The only problem we envisage is lack of space!”

Moss Side Farm Campsite is a small, friendly, family-run site set in a picturesque woodland valley on the borders of the Lake District National Park.  The site is just a short walk from the village of Broughton-in-Furness meaning visitors have easy access to various amenities including pubs, cafés, a restaurant and shops.

Because the site is set on a working farm it’s fun for kids who can interact with the animals. For adults, the fresh produce from the family’s butcher and grocer are perfect for creating meals while on holiday.  Accommodation on site ranges from spacious pitches for tents, tourers and motorhomes through to furnished converted rail cabins which can sleep up to four people.

Commenting on their success Louise Thompson from Moss Side Farm said: “We were really surprised to hear that we are Cumbria’s fastest growing site on Pitchup.com.  We’re such a small site that I’d have imagined we’d barely register.  It just goes to show that getting the right type of accommodation and facilities for guests is what really counts - not size.  We really enjoy working with Pitchup.com as it gives us the sort of nationwide and global presence that a campsite of our size and location would likely otherwise struggle to achieve.  I just hope we can continue to attract these numbers into 2015 and beyond.”
