N'a pas aimé I booked a two‑night stay for my family of five, but we ended up leaving after just one night due to the pitch we were allocated. The space provided was no larger than a parking bay and completely unsuitable for a family‑sized tent. Meanwhile, the neighbouring pitch was more than double the size and occupied by only two people. The photos I have taken clearly show how unreasonable this allocation was.

Because of the lack of space, we couldn’t set up the bedroom pods for our daughters, and the tent had to be positioned awkwardly just to fit. This caused the tent to lift in the wind overnight, and at one point a cat managed to get inside and rummage through our food something that simply wouldn’t have happened if the tent could have been properly secured.

I appreciate that some issues (noise, weather, wasps in the shower cubicles) are outside the campsite’s control, but pitch allocation absolutely isn’t. It’s basic common sense that a family of five needs more space than a couple.

I contacted the campsite directly before posting this review, hoping for a fair and respectful resolution, but unfortunately I received no reply. Given that we couldn’t stay for the full duration of our booking thus the tea for this reflective review.

A aimé “This was an amazing campsite. You can get assigned to camp spaces named after apples. How imaginative is that? There were apple trees everywhere and it not only makes it look prettier- but it is also delicious. Unfortunately, we came in a drought. So, we could not cook and, even with sleeping bags, the ground was quite hard. There is a small living room area where you can play board games and play table football. Definitely recommend it.”- Pearl, 10 years

“I loved this campsite. Your tent is right next to a bunch of apple trees (I recommend for hide and seek) You can relax in a special room where you can read and play table football or even have a nap! There’s a shop next to it where you can buy their apple juice. The tent places are named after a different things. Unfortunately, we came in the drought and the grounds were dry and uncomfortable. Even though I totally recommend it. I suggest you bring lots of pillows!” – Aggie, 8 years

"A great site, well-located an in beautiful surroundings among the orchard looking straight out to the sunset. The allocated sites between the trees also provide some nice privacy between neighbours.

The little cabin room was a great place to hang out- the exceptional opportunity to sit on a proper sofa after two days camping an absolute blessing. Facilities were great- nice kitchen and bathrooms. If you cant park in your camping bay there's parking at the back.

A aimé The site was nice and quiet and the pitches are nicely spaced out so that you can enjoy some privacy if wanted.

N'a pas aimé Someone was on our pitch when we arrived which isn't directly the owners fault but maybe having some sort of check in process would avoid it happening and clear any initial confusion when guests arrive.

A aimé Little details like mats that we could borrow to keep the dust out of vans/tents, use of the camping kitchen, bathrooms with toilet, sink & shower in the same room - all made the stay extra comfortable. Lovely location between the apple trees. Enjoyed chatting to the friendly owner and his dog.

A aimé Nothing. Small cramped ash pitches. Claustrophobic.

N'a pas aimé The approach in was shocking. We were in a 6 mtr campervan which we struggled to manoeuvre. We hit a rock which took off our fresh water tap a damaged meaning g we had to buy a new one.

A aimé Lovely little site and the camping pod was brilliant. We booked The Perch camping pod, very roomy, especially since we had our GSD dog with us. Added bonus of a double camp bed already there, although we had brought our own. My daughter still used hers, the double was very comfy. Our own separate (labelled, with key entry) shower, toilet and kitchenette area, which had a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, very useful. Separate washing up area as well clearly labelled. All very clean. Picnic bench with umbrella and cooking/bbq area by pod, great idea and very useful. The pod is surrounded by bushes and trees, so feels like you have the area to yourselves. Parking bay for your pod a short walk down the path from the pod. Overall a very nice campsite, with all the amenities. Perfect location for all the places we wanted to visit and see. Thanks Jerry and Emma for a great stay.

N'a pas aimé Obviously time of year, bushes slightly overgrown around pod, but no biggy.
Would be handy to have a dog, wetsuit/paddleboard wash station, so you can was the salt water and sand off them.

A aimé Beautiful setting! So incredibly peaceful and the loveliest of pub just a small walk away.
Great facilities. Really could not fault ❤️
