Tile Barn Camping

Looking for a handy location to get out to a whole variety of Kent’s attractions? Perhaps a quick escape from London via public transport? Tile Barn Camping ticks both these boxes and more – this site is a couple of miles from Headcorn, which has a station for direct connections to the capital, and it’s within easy reach of lots of days out for all tastes. Whether you arrive by train or by road, you’ll soon be settling in to simple grass pitches that are part of a farm that’s been in the same family for generations. It’s the kind of place where you’ll spot sheep and cattle in the neighbouring fields and can set off to explore the countryside on walks along footpaths directly from the camping field. Life is generally pretty laidback and peaceful here, except for that one excellent weekend in August when you can spot the events of the military and air show at nearby Headcorn Aerodrome – this is one of the closest campsites so you’ll get a prime view from your pitch. There are other events at the aerodrome throughout the year too, and you can even use it as a base for a flying lesson if you’d like to have a go yourself. Other days out nearby might take you to The Big Cat Sanctuary, Sissinghurst Castle or Leeds Castle, or just to enjoy the fresh air on a hike through Kentish countryside. Back at base, it’s all very simple – pitches are dog-friendly and have access to portable toilets, but you’ll need to bear in mind that there’s no running water and no showers on site.
