A aimé Lovely little campsite (only around 10 pitches). Feels private and secluded. Good playground for children. Great access to local town Penrith and city Carlisle. Plenty of attractions and great hiking in local area.

A aimé The staff were welcoming and helpful. The onsite bar/cafe was a fun place to be especially with the live music. The facilities were clean and never too busy. The site allows campfires which is really nice in the late summer as nights become colder. I was pitched close to the playground which was great as it just me and my 8yr old son (meant he could go play and I could keep an eye on him from my tent). The site is conveniently located between two villages walking distance away (15 and 30min walk). Upon leaving the campsite at the end of our stay my son asked if we could go back next year (which he hasn't asked at other sites).

N'a pas aimé Nothing really to dislike about the site- I suppose the playground area could with a little maintenance and updating but that's about it.

A aimé Crow's Nest is a fantastic camping and caravan park. The staff are welcoming, friendly and accomodating throughout our stay. The facilities are fantastic with a large playground, bar, fish and chip shop on site, arcade games room and swimming pool. The views from the tent field are awesome looking out into the North Sea and views down to Scarborough. Scarborough is a short drive away with good road links and I noticed a bus stop a short walk from the entrance to the park. Locally there is loads to do in Scarborough and the surrounding area including beaches, parks, farms, trains and other visitor attractions. It was me and my seven year old son and we were not bored once over our four night stay.

N'a pas aimé This is really just a slight annoyance than a real dislike but wanted to make visitors aware who are planning to use freezer blocks: the shop charges a small 20p fee per block to freeze. Also you need to plan drop off and collection when the shop is open. I only say this as I normally use a tent focused site and I haven't been charged before and the freezer is usually accessible 24hrs.

A aimé Small campsite located within a farm slightly off the beaten path but still close to local towns and villages. As it is a farm, sheep, goat and deer pens located next and near to the site. Onsite shop offering basics, ice cream and meat from local farm. Free WiFi Clean and well maintained facilities including a pay to use dishwasher. Site allows campfires (via firepits) Site is on the smaller side and was very quiet while I was staying - can't see it feeling crowded. I noticed that the site offers a couple of glamping tents. (Hence luxury and budget options ticked)

N'a pas aimé Nothing I personally disliked about the site just a few observations that others might want to be aware of: It is a farm and therefore farm work noises can be heard early (e.g. tractor) No play area so need to bring toys to entertain children (wouldn't expect there to be a play area due to location/size). The site is on a slope so not many pitches offer a flat area (just highlighting for campers that may want to bring levelling blocks).

A aimé Clean site, onsite playground, homemade stonebaked pizza (order from reception). Friendly staff.

N'a pas aimé Nothing to dislike really - I can see access roads for caravans could be tricky especially if meeting a large vehicle. Could hear the M50 traffic noise in background but only slightly.

A aimé Almost perfect site. Split into "paddocks" which made the site feel more exclusive without feeling crowded. Large well spaced pitches Onsite playground, bar and shop (for essentials) Close to Calne for anything else (Tesco's 10min drive away). Facilities were always clean and never busy (site was almost full leading up to Jubilee weekend) Two onsite fishing lakes, bird hide and a nature trail that circumnavigates the site boundary. There is also a pen with pigmy goats that you can feed (feed purchased for a pound from the shop). Excellent location for exploring the area (just off the A4). No WiFi (at least at our pitch and didn't ask if there was any) but mobile reception was excellent.

N'a pas aimé These are very nitpicking dislikes! Sink taps were a little too powerful especially if you weren't expecting the pressure. Showers were not heat adjustable and were a little too hot for out 4yr old.

A aimé The location is amazing with fantastic views to the Roaches. Farm shop online that sells veg, meat, ice cream and dairy.

N'a pas aimé Shame there is no electric hookup option. Also doesn't appear to be anywhere to freeze freezer blocks (unless I wasn't told). Pitch sites were a little uneven and a bit of a free for all where to pitch, but it is a disused farm field rather than a dedicated camp site.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank You for visiting us & supporting us in the farm shop - in reply to your comments we do advertise as we have no electric - last weekend as we were not busy we did let campers choose where they wanted to pitch up instead of us saying where to camp - if asked we do allow freezer blocks to go into the large freezer where we keep the ice cream as long as they are marked to the owner if we get a few in - Thanks
