A aimé Loved the area, brilliant access to the river. Firepit is amazing. We really enjoyed toasting marshmallows. Good bathroom and kitchen facilities. Bell tent was super comfy with lots of cute and homely touches. The garden is wonderful. Hosts are really friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

N'a pas aimé Not sure how practical the kitchen would be in rainy weather. It is a very cosy site so if you are sharing with strangers it could be a bit awkward. However we are quite sociable so not a big issue. Better to hire the whole site with people you know.

A aimé This is a very well maintained site. Our tent pitch was big and really sheltered. There is currently only one shower and toilet block near the entrance but it is a small enough site that you are not too far away from it. Another washroom is under construction near the tent pitches and this will be really handy. The toilets and showers were very clean. The site is just a short walk from Kirkby Stephen and for 2 days we did not bother with our car. Kirkby Stephen is a lovely town with plenty of amenities. There is a small play park and our children enjoyed playing there. There is free WiFi available. The views are wonderful and we loved the bird song and the rabbits. We really enjoyed our stay and would return.

N'a pas aimé The only thing I can mention is there are currently only 2 showers and 1 disabled shower ( in the ladies) and if it was busy then I can imagine you would have to wait. It was really quiet when we stayed so no problems and once the new block is completed it will be better. The shower cubicles are quite small and once you are under the shower then you are in the water and right against the shower curtains. There is also only a small drying space but there are 3 other cubicles with sinks and I used one to get properly dried. This would not put me off returning though.

A aimé Spacious pitch, very clean and bright facilities, shop with good prices, free wifi, ideally placed to visit all North Norfolk attractions, friendly and welcoming owners.

A aimé Excellent wifi Clean showers and toilets and showers were warm and powerful Good location Onsite food was a good option and we enjoyed the pizza and breakfast rolls

N'a pas aimé Too close to the main road Haphazard tent pitches and too close to neighbouring tents. You could not park your car next to some pitches Toilets were too close to showers meaning the floor was wet in front of the toilet Hand dryers were useless Mirrors were too high in some cubicles

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank you for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed the use of the wifi and our facilities, We do not allow cars to park next to tents when the site is full, as we have previously had problems with people being able to get their cars of due to tents being sited in front. A aimé Good sized, level pitches. Very clean showers and toilets. Excellent washing up facilities and good laundry facilities for a small charge. Brilliant wifi and free to use but make a donation to local charity. Friendly owners. Visiting fish and butcher van. Games room.

N'a pas aimé Tiny criticism is that I found the shower block quite cold but once in the shower quickly warmed up. Quite remote and nearest villages did not have many amenities. You need to drive for pubs, restaurants and shops. This did not put us off but it might not suit everybody.

We do advertise our site as a rural location which warns customers in advance that they do need to bring some supplies with them.We do have heating in our shower block but we feel that in May we should not need it on but unfortunately last week was a little chilly at night. N'a pas aimé Noise from the power lines The play park is a bit old and tired could do with being updated Quite a walk to toilets and showers from tent field but could drive to it as some people did. Could probably benefit from more showers and or changing cubicles for high season. Poor Wifi signal but as it is free then can't really complain too much and we were not inconvenienced by it.

We are reviewing the facilities situation before next season and hope to start discussions with Wyre Borough Council regarding planning permission. If successful this will hopefully eliminate a lot of our customers issues. We also intend this winter to revamp the play area, we hope to see you again in the near future.
