A aimé Lovely views, Phil the owner cannot do enough for you even giving you 20p for showers. Nice stroll to village, pitches nice size not overcrowded.

N'a pas aimé This is nothing against Phil or the site but he cleans the toilets/showers twice a day but could do with a deep clean once in a while window cills full of dead flies and cobwebs, but this is just a personal grievance as they are clean.

N'a pas aimé Site was generally unloved, showers needed a deep clean, sink in washing area had the same stains over 4 days as other campers had mentioned it. Extractors in bathroom were discusting . Men’s showers flooded on 2 occasions. If they was to charge an extra £1 and put a warden on site this would be a fantastic site. Caroline the lady who runs it was available via phone but there is only so much you can do. Information on water points etc would have been helpful but that goes back to having a warden.

A aimé Generous sized pitches, lovely showers although could do with deep clean. They do clean daily put I did noticed within the hr they were untidy ( I blame kid).

N'a pas aimé Need shelf or something to put shower gel in shower. And although nothing they can do about it there was a swarm of flys and a swarm of wasps near water point on pitch 8.

A aimé The site was lovely and clean and ideally situated for lower and higher Bentham. Was great to have all the amenities on your pitch with cows, sheep horses and rabbits in the surrounding fields.

N'a pas aimé These are not negatives but my personal preferences. Could do with a little hut with some local information ie walks etc only because if it wasn’t for the staff at the punch bowl we would not have known there was a walk along river to higher Bentham (which was lovely), as per previous reviews there is no tv or mobile signal so maybe provide wifi if there is a little charge just to help to find walks etc. and this one was my personal grievance the cctv watching over the vans made me feel a little un comfy (maybe should be near gate/enterance).

A aimé Lovely site, very dog friendly, showers were great and the activities for kids was great (animal sanctuary and maize maze), farm shop on site was good and reasonably priced. Only 10 - 20 mins to Barnard castle.

N'a pas aimé Need to be aware that it is on the A66 so road traffic is constant.

A aimé Absolutely fantastic Sally, James and apprentice Ann couldn’t do enough even when we had an issue with our awning was happy to loan a pair of ladders. Fantastic will definitely be back and seeing the red squirrels was a bonus..

A aimé Lovely location peaceful and although I am posting some dislikes I am a self contained unit so never used them just viewed them.

N'a pas aimé Toilets dates, showers had brambles growing through windows and the launderette was new 50yrs ago. Not too mention the staff behind a security screen.

N'a pas aimé Traffic noise as pitches only had a hedgerow separating them from a main road, but saying that went quiet after 8pm ish.

A aimé Lovely site, amenities a bit tired but that being said we did know that. Th location is lovely and although I think I did see Claire (the owner) we never actually stopped to talk.

Réponse du gestionnaire : thank you for your comments and i'm glad that overall you enjoyed your stay.I am sorry we didn't get to speak Unfortunately because I was working full time in May I wasn't always there when customers arrived but I recently retired so can spend more time greeting people as they arrive. Any suggestions as to improvements you'd like to see are always welcome but in essence I want the site to remain as natural as possible with the emphasis on peace and quiet.

A aimé Roger & Julie were great owners, nothing too much trouble pitches level and site spotless, plenty of space and lovely walks. Excellent time of year to go as lambing season and you could go and stroke all the new born lambs

A aimé This was our 1st time caravaning and was a bit dubious as when we arrived the couple next to us were cutting there stay short due to weather. However after a very windy night we found that everything was in close proximity. Showers although dated were hot, refreshing and clean. The chemical toilet is within walking ditance along with water station.

A aimé We stayed here at the beginning of May and although they can not allow for the weather we found it to be fantastic. We found it ideally situated to the motorway with everything you needed either on site or within a short drive from site. The grandson enjoyed fishing and although struggled to catch anything due to there being a match on the previous day (well thats my excuse) and the wind he thoroughly enjoyed it especially when he finally caught his fish. The pylons were in front of our pitch and did not cause an issue and if you wanted to listen for them then you could (with difficulty). The children that were there were enjoying playing on the grass situated in front of the statics and did not cause us any problems and I gotta admit was nice to see that they were all having fun. The owner or maybe warden not sure was fantastic and even after trying to rebook took my number as they were fully booked and did actually ring me with a cancellation unfortuantely I had booked elswhere (GUTTED to say least)

N'a pas aimé hill going to the site but this is being fussy and not really an issue except when I was walking up it LOL!!!!

A aimé I found this site to be small, friendly and well run site. Showers were amazing and pitches were ideal, The cleanliness was good and the wardens were very helpful.

N'a pas aimé recycle point and waste point was situated near entrance. The facilities for children consisted of 2 swings and a climbing frame so lacked entertainment. No local amenities so need to drive everywere.
