Mooidal Boutique Park

If you want to tick another two countries off your bucket list in one trip, the borders with Belgium and Germany are a short drive from Mooidal Boutique Park. At the fork between the three countries, Labyrinth Three Countries Point (half an hour’s drive) has lookout towers for an obligatory snap. It's also Europe’s highest maze, so there's that… In the same area, you could swing by the highest point in the Netherlands, Vaalserberg (35 minutes), or poke your head into the town of Vaals (25 minutes), which has a museum and a glassblower running popular demos. Don't want to travel too far? Eijsden (15 minutes) is an old village with typical Mosan Renaissance mansions along Diepstraat street and a castle with French gardens. Just below Maastricht, it can go into the same day's plan. Perhaps you like to rummage through some market stalls when you’re on holiday too. For that, Sittard (half an hour) has a historic market square (market day is Thursday). It also has an escape room centre and a nice variety of shops and cafés.
