New in 2025, Paxton House Glamping is set in 80 gorgeous acres of woodland, Tweed riverside and parkland on the Paxton House estate in the Scottish Borders. This Berwickshire mansion was built in Palladian style in 1763 – it’s right on the border with England so if the mood takes you, you can easily explore two countries on one holiday.
Each wooden glamping pod has an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area with a sofa and TV, table and chairs, a double bed and kitchen corner equipped with all you need to rustle up your own meals, from an oven and fridge to cutlery, crockery and glasses.
There’s also a wet room with a shower and heated towel rail at the rear of each pod, along with a second bedroom with single bunk beds. Outside is a private verandah, a small enclosed lawn and picnic bench, all looking over woodland to the River Tweed. One parking space and a bike rack complete the roster of private facilities.
Communal amenities include a playpark and den-building area as well as plenty of peaceful walks. The on-site tearoom, shop and main house are open daily from 10am–4pm between April and October, while there is a welcoming pub 10 minutes’ stroll away in Paxton village.

Itinéraire
The postcode will only take you to the main entrance. For the pods, go through the gates and drive up the main driveway.
Once over the bridge, keep LEFT at the sandstone boulders along the track (do not turn right into the main car park). Take the left turning onto the light-coloured gravel track and the pods will be on your right. Pod 1 is the first you'll see (at the top of the hill), followed by the others as you go down the hill.
There is a turning circle at the bottom of the hill (by pod 5).
