A aimé As always, a lovely to stay here 🙂 Unfortunately, I forgot the tent poles 😬 and so we had to makeshift something together for the night so it wasn't the best night away 😂 🙈 But that was my fault 😂 Simon was lovely and on hand to offer us support and laugh with us!!!

Campsite clean and tidy, toilets include(great loo paper!)
The Blue Ship, genuinely kind and friendly owner/staff. A buzzy lively pub.
Could not fault.

A aimé Outstanding food in the pub! Had Ribeye, tom&moz salad, and calamari. All top notch.
We camped & liked free pitching, mostly flat, very clean toilets..3 men, 3 women. Was only 4 other campers.
No bar, but a cute little hatch to order from.
Not having to check in.

N'a pas aimé As read in reviews, lots of signage. Very wordy, 'Do not feed the Ponies' was very important but was lost in the over- complicated, wordy, old, laminated information posters.

A aimé Great site and an even better pub. We had a great one night stay with a meal in the pub in the evening. Very friendly staff who left unto get on with it and enjoy the peace and quiet.

A aimé Nice site, very quiet. The Pup is charming with very good ale.

N'a pas aimé Value for money. 30 quidsfir a basic pkace, no showers, no hot water, just one small basi. For washing, not evven a proper dishwashing area? Lights in the loo only worked at one end. 15 to 20 due to location would be okay.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Whilst we are pleased you liked the site overall and the pub, we are thoroughly perplexed by your comments with regard to our offerings and our pitch rates as you would have known all of this information at the time of booking.
Everything we offer is stated, we are a basic rural campsite with a quality toilet block and no showers so why this would be a surprise to you or give cause to complain astounds us. It is like booking a 3* hotel and then complaining to management after you leave that it was not a 5* resort.

With regard to your "15 to 20 quid" comment, our pitches start from £20. For the amount you suggest it simply would not be viable as a business...to operate and open the campsite gate each week we have insurance costs, water costs, cleaner costs to clean toilets, field mowing and maintenance costs, electricity costs, sundry items to pay for...all of which cost money. Our margins are already small. All of which you clearly have not even given a thought to when writing your comments based on nothing other than thoughtless opinion.

To anyone reading this and considering booking, please read our offerings clearly, if you want more then we have available then please book somewhere that meets your requirements.....
If you want showers, please dont book...if you want electric hook up please dont book..if you want children's entertainment please dont book.
If you want tranquility and a rural campsite, if you want a traditional pub on site serving all local offerings, if you want a countryside escape....then please book your stay with us and you will not be disappointed.

As a side note....a little surprised re the expensive comment given that our pitches start at £20 per night and are exactly as we list, a rural campsite with good toilet facilities and no showers, no more and no less. We also run regular comparisons to other campsites and feel we are priced fairly for what we offer, I can only apologise that you do not agree......
Whilst it may appear as "a field with a loo" (albeit 6 toilets not 1 for anyone else reading this), overheads still very much exist....insurance has gone up threefold in the past four years...water bills have increased hugely...grass needs mowing weekly to keep the campsite looking its best and fuel cost has increased massively, gardener required to be employed twice monthly to trim hedges, gateways etc, toilet rolls and soap supply for toilets, a cleaner attends weekly for the toilets.....All of these things cost us money as a small independent business...so in all honesty if we were to charge less than 20 quid a night we may as well not bother and lock the gate up to the campsite permanently! So I hope upon reflection when you look at your pitch fee, I trust that you will see that actually it is pretty fair when you take in to consideration all that we do to enable you to have "a field and a loo".

A aimé Super clean, super quiet and out the way. Pub onsite is a plus, with a cool hole in the wall style bar. Good choice of beers.

Toilet facilities onsite were also excellent.
