Set on a farm with quiet pastures and ancient woodland, Wild Weald Camping is a peaceful escape where you'll easily be able to switch off and reconnect with nature and/or your family. The site has a fishing pond (extra charges apply) and a stunning private woodland where the owners have kindly put together 'The Forager's Treasure Hunt' with clues along the track. Every pitch is provided with a map so that guests can quickly start exploring the area on foot as well as further afield. There are also firepits for hire and logs for sale so that families can spend the evening around the fire. Find tender meat for the barbecue in the market town of Hailsham, a 10-minute drive away. There is plenty to do for families within half an hour's drive of Wild Weald Camping. Drusillas Park, Knockhatch Adventure Park, Treasure Island Adventure Park and Fort Fun have a choice of adventures from zoo animals to go-karting and waterslides. Look west and you’ll find Eastbourne within half an hour's drive of the site. The seaside town has an elegant Victorian seafront which gives way to the spectacular hikes over the Beachy Head cliffs and the Seven Sisters Country Park. The art galleries and theatres in the town are also on-hand if you'd prefer a shorter walk or a seat for the evening. You won’t need to worry about leaving your canine friends behind at the site, as two dogs are welcome (although you'll need to keep them on a lead).

A aimé Geweldige lieve gastvrouw, mooie ruime plek met prachtig uitzicht.

N'a pas aimé De sanitaire voorzieningen waren nog wel heel primitief. Een douche met een gat in de grond als afvoer, een te kleine wasbak waarin onze handen niet pasten en nergens plek om je toiletspullen neer te zetten of op te hangen maar wat ik heb begrepen gaat dit nog wel worden vernieuwd. De camping was pas net een maand overgenomen door de nieuwe eigenaren.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Gosh, a bit confused as to comments about showers and hand basins. The showers are fully plumbed in and the hand basins are a trough designed for the biggest of hands.

A aimé A wonderful campsite and the owners were very welcoming. We had a chat with them every evening. The campsite was very calming. My daughter enjoyed the woodland walk and was so excited to see two herds of deer, especially the white deer. The shower block was clean. My son did some fishing with our friend and caught a fish. We will absolutely be back again for another camping trip.

A aimé Perfect campsite- friendly owners, spacious field to stay in, lovely warm showers, clean shower block. Had fun hiring a fire pit. Absolutely adored the adjoining woods- kids absolutely loved exploring, building a den and we found a rope swing. We also paid to do the treasure hunt which was lots of fun and helped us find our way deep into the woods. First time here and will definitely be coming back.

Also had some great days out locally, and a good pub meal only 10 mins drive.

A aimé We've been coming to this campsite many times and it never disappoints. It's a lovely, quiet place with loads of space, the pitches are huge, so you never feel crowded. The shower facilities are clean and good, and we love that real campfires are allowed, making the evenings even more enjoyable.
The hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The campsite is surrounded by beautiful forest, with a lovely pond nearby, creating the perfect setting for complete relaxation. If you're looking for peace, nature, and a genuine camping experience, this is the perfect place. We will definitely be back again and again!

A aimé There was plenty of space and the ground was well looked after, the kids made loads of friends and enjoyed water fights with the other camps and playing in the woods.

The woodlands were great for the kids to explore with a well stocked fishing lake.

The showers and toilets were very clean and spacious.

Pam and Francis made us feel welcome and comfortable from the get go and gave us all the information we needed.

Don’t miss out on the Bodgers trail!
A beautiful walk through the woodlands learning about the history and following the clues having fun finding all the hidden arrows and numbers to unlock the treasure chest! 🪎

Looking forward to returning as the kids loved it so much.

Once you’ve thoroughly explored around the site, head to the lavender fields and mediaeval manors of the High Weald National Landscape (35 minutes' drive) – walks here are rather like jumping into a landscape painting. For sites with more heritage and culture, Pevensey Castle (20 minutes), Michelham Priory House & Gardens (15 minutes) and The Observatory Science Centre (10 minutes) cover topics such as the Romans, the Medieval period and the sky. Gaze at real moats and red bricks at 15th-century Herstmonceux Castle (15 minutes) too. Pack a picnic for the 18-acre Blackberry Farm Park (15 minutes) – just make sure the alpacas and wildfowl don’t nab your sandwich while your back is turned.
