Planning some travels that don’t rely on a car? This could well be the spot – Tip Top Campsite, on the banks of the Aire River, is within a quarter of a mile of public transport options like a railway station and bus stop, making it easy to get out and about exploring nearby places like Skipton, Ilkley and Saltaire. Not that there’s any reason to stray that far if you don’t want to. This site is in a great spot for exploring the surrounding Aire Valley on walks or bike rides – and amenities aren’t far off either. Steeton (a mile away) has a small supermarket, takeaway and restaurant, while the nearby village of Silsden (three quarters of a mile) has cafés, a larger supermarket and access to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath. Staying on site for a while may well be an option, too – river fishing is allowed in the Aire if you've got the correct licence (although landing fish on the steep bank can be difficult), and the grounds are generally a supremely peaceful place to relax. The site is full of greenery, including over 800 willow trees and a small woodland by the beck that meanders through the farm. All of that foliage attracts wildlife, but the site is also home to domesticated animals like Kunekune pigs, geese, bees and hens that visitors are welcome to meet. Because of all the animals, please make sure that you use the designated dog exercise field if you're bringing a four-legged friend. Handily, the site also has two (7kWh) electrical vehicle charging points for guests to use.

Très recommandé, ce camping plait pour ses propriétaires si accueillants et serviables, ses installations propres et son ambiance paisible. Les campeurs apprécient les vastes emplacements, les animaux de la ferme et les touches d'attention comme la grange communautaire. Le bruit de la route voisine est mineur, surpassé par l'emplacement et l'expérience globale. Beaucoup veulent revenir.

A aimé Great facilities, good pitched and lots of nice extras lile eggs, firepits, etc. Bathrooms were very clean too.

The animals on site were an absolute high light, the piglets stole our hearts!

N'a pas aimé Only down site was the noise from the road (which is out of the sites control) as its near a busy road and there were loud motorbikes throughout the evening. They do however very kindly offer free ear plugs which helped!

A aimé Lovely, well thought out areas for pitching your tent. The grass has been kept long in areas to pitch against - meaning people can't pitch too close behind you. It also makes the campsite more interesting with lots of little areas rather than being just a square field. Despite it being a busy weekend in the summer hols, it didn't feel like everyone was on top of each other!
The communal bar has a fridge, microwave and kettle for everyone to use and there is the option to hire firepits/chiminea's and big bags of fire wood. The showers are surprisingly lovely and the toilets are kept clean! We really liked it here and will return - a little gem not too far from home!

A aimé It was a lovely flat well kept site. Really friendly owner with lots of tips for local walks & pubs. Great facilities under cover for tent campers. Chineneas, wood etc with an honesty jar.

A aimé The campsite had a peaceful and laid-back atmosphere. It was quiet and spacious. The owners were warm, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. There was a kitchen area with a fridge, kettle, and microwave. The toilets and showers were clean and well-maintained

A aimé We really enjoyed our time here, its a lovely spacious campsite with well maintained ground. We was here for 2 days and felt very welcomed. Especially happy with facilities, again very clean and homely. Would definitely come back with the children.

A aimé We loved this site, didn't see the kids for hours which is always a good sign. Great communication from hosts and great location for site sewing.

N'a pas aimé Near 2 busy roads so can be quite noisy but free earplugs definitely helped

Once you’ve thoroughly explored the Aire Valley, there’s plenty more for walkers and cyclists to see over in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (20 minutes’ drive), or with a meander along the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal (five minutes). Or, if you’d like your outdoor time to be filled in a different way, perhaps try the Silsden Golf Driving Range (two minutes). Places for a gentle stroll are plentiful, too – maybe you’d like to wander the grounds of Cliffe Castle Museum and Park (10 minutes) and the gorgeous Bolton Abbey estate (20 minutes) or take a tour through the well-preserved medieval rooms of Skipton Castle (15 minutes). The Italianate architecture of ‘model village’ Saltaire (15 minutes) makes this another lovely place for a day out. For other options, take a trip to Ilkley (15 minutes) to swim in the river and try out its foodie shops, learn about one of the nation’s favourite literary families at Brontë Parsonage Museum (20 minutes) or visit the Royal Pump Museum and have tea at Betty's Tea Rooms in Harrogate (40 minutes).
