Shipley Lane Camping and Caravanning

A aimé Great views. Large camping areas, your not squashed together. Toilets are basic but kept clean, no showers. Stayed 3 nights and loved it. Would’ve of happily stayed longer but heading North. Great value

A aimé Lovely, peaceful little campsite - no shower facilities so better for those with motor homes or camper vans but portaloo’s available and clean. Beautiful location and views, great for dog walkers and hikers. Easy to use camper van equipment i.e. chemical waste disposal. No litter or rubbish around.

N'a pas aimé Not flat, considering there are no facilities (which I knew about) it wasn’t that cheap.

A aimé We liked the ease of being able to just park up and sort ourselves, very chilled and low-key site.
Lovely views of farmland, big area for kids to play.
Portaloos were fine: clean and had toilet roll and hand washing facilities.

N'a pas aimé Didn’t like how close to the road it was where cars travel quite fast and can be quite loud but they quietened off late evening and overnight.
We were near some loud guests but that was pure bad luck I suppose and the noise stopped at 11pm thankfully!

N'a pas aimé Once there, there is no where to walk or explore, we tried walking the road but turned back after 5 mins as it was so busy and dangerous, as the owners stated in a previous review they would of advised walks etc but we didn’t see any owners at all, maybe put some signage up if you don’t want to speak to campers.
We have camped all over the country and very rarely give a bad review especially when we check facilities and reviews before booking but this is a very expensive site for very limited care to stayers..
Windy (can’t be helped) open field with large groups allowed, would not return.

A aimé The ground was in excellent condition, and the field is massive. Even though there were several others pitched when we were the distances between each tent meant you had privacy.

You are given freedom, so long as you are respectful of other campers and the working farm you are left alone to enjoy your getaway.

Very close to Alnwick (12 minute drive) so you can pop into town for any amenities you may need.

I would definitely book here again, only next time I might look to book a pitch with an electric point.
