N'a pas aimé Had to approach the site through a farmyard resembling a scene from Mad Max. Not enough facilities for the size of the site. Hugely over priced. Very noisy.

I'm so sorry that you had this experience. I have checked back on our booking sheet and can see that we don't have you as checked in, meaning you didn't stop at the main gate and call the phone number to check in as the signage asks you too. I fear this was the root of things not working out...

The reason we ask people to stop and call & formally check in is precisely because we are a working farm, not a commercial campsite. Mad Max is perhaps a slight exaggeration!! But there is a lot of metal work around the entrance yes. We have an (award winning!) Blacksmith on site and many of his sculptures are by the main entrance. There is also a lot of current & old farm machinery by this entrance because as I say, we are a working farm! Some people might find that unsightly - most people find it charming. It's the reality of a working farm.

Facilities are discreetly built into hedgerows for example, and when people check in we explain where everything can be found and reiterate that if you need anything at all whilst on site then please call us.

The campsite was fairly busy last Saturday yes, as it often is in the middle of the summer holidays. On the few occasions I walked around the site on Saturday no-one was being disruptively noisy. Groups were playing rounders, football, cricket and there was an enthusiastic game of articulate happening!

Apologies again we didn't meet your expectations. We know our set up isn't for everyone, and I am genuinely sad you felt you had to leave and go to find somewhere else to camp. I will refund you now.

We're really glad you enjoyed your stay, Yes, the views are gorgeous aren't they they :)

There are 7 compost loos on site all together which we've always thought is quite a lot for our size of farm, but I think often people don't notice where they are tucked away in the corners of fields. We'll look at improving our signage. Thanks for the feedback.

A aimé Beautiful countryside surrounding the campsite, and a lovely, safe space for my kids to run around in. The field that we were in had very few other tents, which was nice as it was pretty quiet and I didn't feel like we were disturbing others either.

Logs and sausages were available on arrival too.

A aimé We loved this campsite. Back to basics but in a great way. Real escapism. Fabulous views of rolling hills. Warm and friendly hosts and amazing sauna experience.

A aimé Lovely views, friendly welcome, felt very safe. Water tap and compost toilet nearby. Easy walk into Kniveton with the dogs.

N'a pas aimé I wish I had been told the Lammas festival was on when I booked. Although it was no problem to me as such, the constant noise was a bit disappointing as I had looked forward to a very quiet weekend away. I would have chosen a different weekend to stay.

A aimé The view, how they provide wood and firepits, where we could go anywhere, they had drinking water and loos, how clean it was, kids could be kids running around and playing

A aimé Such an amazing place! First time camping and when I arrived Emma made me feel so at ease. She gave me tips and helpful information, I even had some food from their farm shop which was amazing! (I highly recommend the lamb burgers) the place itself was very big, easy to get too. The views were absolutely breathtaking in every direction. Water supply very good. Toilets were immaculate! In general very clean communal areas. As travelling on my own I am wary but I felt really relaxed here 😌 I will definitely be returning!

N'a pas aimé Nothing to do with this site itself but did have some very noisy neighbours on the second night (I group of 12-14 men) luckily that was the only night they stayed
