N'a pas aimé Upon arrival was greeted by a lady who made me feel quite unwelcome - pitch up had double booked my booking (not my fault) and she wasn't happy about that. Then told me exactly how I was allowed to pitch my tent, and said the site manager would come over to check that it was done properly.

Luckily had an electric pitch which was at the top of the site so close to the facilities, if we were on a non-electric pitch it would have been a long walk. They were also quite small if the site had been fully booked. Pitches weren't marked out with lines or fencing, but the site manager did come over to tell me how much of the space I could use and check how I was pitching my tent.

The site page on pitch up also states flat pitches, which would be true if you were on the non-electric field at the bottom of the hill. All electric pitches are on a hill. Not an issue, just not what's advertised.

Overall it was a nice stay, but the lack of freedom to pitch how I'd like to, and the check-ins from the site manager (which I've never experienced in any other campsite) made this a less recommendable site than others I've been to.

N'a pas aimé Der Empfang war bei der Abreise trotz der Öffnungszeiten leider nicht besetzt und wir sind nicht die Leute, die extra anrufen, um auf Wiedersehen zu sagen. Wir hatten bezahlt und es war alles geregelt und so sind wir gefahren

N'a pas aimé On arrival, my husband was met with complaints about how busy the site was, and was made to feel like our arrival was an inconvenience (great start).

The pitch assigned to us, had a lovely view of a burnt out rubbish dump! Not only is it an eyesore, but it's also a hazard. There's nothing to stop children walking onto it.

The pitches seemed quite small, and no clear boundaries between pitches, which made us feel very cramped (if you want EHU expect to be on top of your neighbours - the top of the first field resembled festival camping). There seemed to be plenty of empty spaces throughout the time we were there, which begs the question, why squash everyone together?

The children's playground looked good from a distance, but on closer inspection it was actually tired and broken in places.

There's one facilities block, located at the top of the site, so you're faced with an uphill trek, and whilst it was generally clean, its far too small to accommodate the number of people staying on site. There was also no shelter at the washing-up station, so good luck to anyone caught in the rain!

There also seemed to be a lack of drinking water points (another trek back up the hill).

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us.

We have now taken remedial action with the site of the bonfire and this is now been removed.

The points you have made are being addressed we are looking to mark all pitches with boundaries so that it is clear the space you have and we are looking to put some taps in the lower part of the park.

A aimé Location was easy to find. Nice looking site that's well kept with good facilities. Nearby pubs were lovely with a few takeaway options too.
Ice cream & chilled drinks available in reception which was nice.
Potential for nice views (obstructed by too many tents). There is a good park for kids, but it's quite far and not in eye sight from the grass electric pitches

N'a pas aimé The electric grass pitches were far too cramped, it felt like we were at a festival. They were also not clearly marked so It was a bit of a free for all as to where your actual pitch ended up with the tent next to you pitching too far over etc. The pitch size is advertised as unlimited which it definitely isn't. Because of how busy the site was it was very loud overnight.
Maybe fine for some people but we prefer a spacious open pitch with nice views including some grass space in front of the tent.

A aimé Lovely quiet campsite. We opted for no electricity so got a lot more space around compared to those with electric hookup. This was great for our dog. The new toilet facilities were clean and well maintained. It was nice to be able to walk straight to the woods from the campsite.

N'a pas aimé Would have liked more water points around especially down on the bottom field as we had to walk a bit just to fill our bottles. Would also be good to update/ reopen the old facilities just so the walk wasn't so far from the non electric pitches. Finally it would be nice to have a freezer/ fridge for ice packs to help those camping. As this is advertised as a holiday park I just felt there could have been a little more in terms of facilities to accommodate everyone. The points mentioned however, didn't ruin our stay they just could have made it even better :)

A aimé Spacious, green campsite surrounded by woodland, good for walks and exploring. Showers had hot water and were never crowded. Good local places to eat nearby, and lots of space for kids and dogs to run freely (but due to H&S we had to keep an eye on them so they do not approach burned waste area).

N'a pas aimé It was quite shocking to see an area on-site (field for tents), where non-organic items like furniture had been burned. Among the waste were metal parts, broken ceramic...none of which are biodegradable. What’s especially concerning is that this spot was completely unfenced, located in an open field, and visible to everyone, including children playing nearby. From a health and safety perspective, this poses a real risk, sharp or toxic materials left exposed in a family-friendly space should be properly contained or removed.
As a campsite, I believe it’s important to lead by example when it comes to environmental responsibility. Items like this should be disposed of through appropriate recycling or waste facilities.

A aimé Loads of space for the kids to play. Woods nearby.

N'a pas aimé There was a pile of rubbish in the middle of the field where we were camping. It looked like loads of furniture and stuff had been burnt there. It was extremely unsafe for little ones with loads of metal and glass around especially as it was very close to the playground. Also, it completely spoilt the views. It's a shame as otherwise the campsite was nice. I'm afraid we won't return.

The bonfire pile to the left of the field has now had remedial action and has been removed sorry his spoilt your stay with us.

A aimé Burn pile close to non electric tent piches and playground, which was an healthy and safety hazard for younger children. Toilet block far from non electric tent piches and not particularly clean

The burn pile has had remedial action and has been removed. The toilet block is cleaned and checked at regular intervals through the day we are sorry if you did not find the toilets clean and would hope that customers bring this to our attention in between checks.

A aimé Lovely, well kept site. Friendly helpful wardens who were really obliging. Lots to do in the area
