Good central base for North Devon.

This site has changed dramatically in the last year under new ownership. Sadly these changes have not been for the better. We wish that Pitch had been updates with the changes but sadly it has not. There is no Petorama they have built an arcade which was not open this season. There is no carvery or the onsite food vans there used to be. Just expensive pizzas and a standard burger van. The cafe was closed as was the chip shop. The onsite shop was always empty and the caravan shop is being run down on stock. Field 3 and 2 are leave a lot to be desired and it appears they only now care about static clientele. It used to be a great family site but now you’re welcomed to the entertainment by security guards that treat you like you’re drunk in a city. Oh and wifi is £6 a day and doesn’t work.

Campsite layout - all pitches good size, plenty of room. electric hookup within good reach, water close to every pitch, great sized shower block for every field area and central.
Cleanliness- showers and toilets spotless, plenty of washing up stations, site itself beautifully tidy.
The barn - although we have been here a few times now, and the entertainment repetitive from previous years, the kids absolutely loved that they knew the acts and were excited to see them again.
Pony riding on site - the kids look forward to their when we come a d this year was even better. Staes looked much more well kept, the organisation was much better and the trek was well worth it. They loved the trot path section. AND the pony's were young and energetic but gentle with the children. Deffinately a highlight.
Swimming pool - the pool was a good size and very clean. It's well organised with limited numbers per session. You do have to pay extra for it but we found this meant less people using the pool, alongside better camping prices, and it was cheaper than going to our local pool. The changing rooms were a good size with plenty of lockers for those who want them.
Staff - all very friendly and helpful. On our first day, while attempting to put up our tent, the wind was so strong it blew the tent and broke the poles before we had the chance to get it up. I phoned reception and asked if we could move to a pitch more sheltered and they immediately moved us which made it possible (with the help of gorilla tape and shear determination) for us to remain on site for the duration of our holiday.
Food vans - The onsite bar did not do food other than snacks BUT there were 3 food vans which are open every day. Jacket potatoes, pizzas and burgers van. They sold a massive range of foods which would cater for most tastes, and you are able to take the food away with you and eat it in the Barn (where the entertainment is) or the onsite pub.

Brilliantly huge site!! Something for everyone. Toilet & shower blocks have lots of toilets & showers, so no waiting time. And always clean! Showers were warm & powerful. Great sized pitches. Bars & food options were great! Shop well stocked, all staff were happy & friendly. Will definitely return & recommend to others, thanks for a great stay x

Considered this site to be expensive with what was on offer. Food and drinks were expensive.

Pitch was on a slope. Couldn't level the motorhome even using levellers.
Spent 3 days walking uphill in the MOHO. Water would not drain from sink.
Wasps were really troublesome. They were present in all areas of the site but especially near the pub and food areas.
Very poor WiFi . We bought WiFi and this remained slow and not reliable at all. Kept dropping out !

The staff were all helpful and kind, the facilities were all clean and all in working order. The tent pitches were spacious. The horse riding school was brilliant and the pitch and putt was so much fun. The views were stunting.

Had issues with toilet blocks being shut and could go and have a sit down meal as staff shortages

Pitch, Shower Block/Toilets, Rubbish Removal, Grey Water Disposal. Clubhouse not too bad and really liked the Pizza Van/Jacket Potato on location.

Massive tents x2 with approx 8 people located on pitches in front of us tying guylines onto our pitch and using our pitch as shortcut to toilets/showers.

Close to the toilet blocks and all the facilities we could want.

Onsite food and other items overpriced (perhaps predictably?
