When a relaxed break on Anglesey is what the doctor ordered, Tyn Rhos Caravan Park should do rather nicely. This rural and dog-friendly park really is a quiet spot tucked into leafy countryside by the side of the Afon Lligwy stream, with no clubhouse, shop, restaurant or play area on site. However, children are welcome to stay, and you should find all the pubs, cafés and shops you need a handy five minutes’ drive away in Moelfre. It’s also only 10 minutes’ stroll from the sweeping stretches of Lligwy beach – known for its golden sands, scenic views and beach café. Luckily the beach is also open for your furry friends, so they can join in with a splash about in the waves. Practical facilities cover all the essentials: modern toilet and shower blocks (including one newly built for 2025; a small charge applies for the coin-operated hot showers), an accessible bathroom for mobility-impaired guests, a washing-up area and laundry room.

Ce camping propre et bien entretenu est apprécié pour son excellente situation, à deux pas d'une magnifique plage acceptant les chiens et de sentiers côtiers. Le personnel aimable et serviable, ainsi que l'état des sanitaires, sont souvent cités. Bien que la plupart aient trouvé le site paisible, certains ont noté des bruits occasionnels venant des emplacements saisonniers. A aimé Great site. Very clean, lots of other friendly campers. 5 minutes from a gorgeous beach and 10 minutes from local amenities. Some lovely places to eat close by and not far from the north Wales expressway

A aimé Decent size pitch and good location near an excellent beach. Slightly more expensive than some sites but location worth it in my opinion. Coastal path near and a very nice walk into Moelfre.

N'a pas aimé Shower set up was strange with tokens costing an extra £1 for 8 minutes. The token machine to start the shower was located outside of the shower cubicle and across a communal space (but still within the toilet block). If you wanted to buy more tokens they were located in reception at a different site. This site was a 2-3 mile drive away.

Paying an extra £2.50 per day for WiFi but it was a very stable connection so maybe worth it.

A aimé Location was decent, 10 minutes walk to the beach, close enough to drive to other nice places. So decent base although not much around other than the beach.

N'a pas aimé Very pricey, £120 for 3 night for 1 adult and 1 child.
Camping area is very uneven and hilly, couldn't find any flat area to put the tent.
The site is advertised as quiet but we had some very loud neighbours, camping area should be tents only, we had people in camper vans next and around us and they were very loud every night and no ranger was around to stop it.
Freezer was very small, and when some guests decide to fill it with beer bottles there was no space for us to put our items.
You have to check in at a seperate site about ten mins drive away which is a pain, surely the money they make they could have a member of staff do it on site, also shower tokens have to be purchased at the other site.
Having to pay £1 a go for showers is quite ridiculous too, especially after paying £40 a night. There's nothing at the site either, no shop, no play area for kids so it's very overpriced for what you actually get, especially as we aren't including showers into it.

A aimé The site was clean, tidy, and well presented. Shower blocks were great and the cleaning facilities were also great

N'a pas aimé Shower was hit and miss with cold and hot water. But wasn't a deal breaker

A aimé Perfect location close to lligwy beach.
Good toilet/showers. Washing up room with washing machines/dryers. Pitches well spaced with water and electric hook up. Lots of easily accessible walks.
Quiet but not too quiet. No rowdy parties!
Pitch was level and close to amenities.
Good value for money.

Gorgeous site with plenty of space and toilets/showers are clean.
Having a boat/ trailer area was also great and saves space on your pitch.

N'a pas aimé Only thing was the ground was very hard in places for tent pegs.
Would definitely advise taking a peg puller if camping.

N'a pas aimé Being on a slope and took close the entrance of a walk way. Not great having a reactive dog. Shouldn't be paying extra for the showers. But overall a good stay.

Cross the Britannia Bridge on the A55, and follow the A5025 for 10 miles to Benllech. Continue through Benllech village to the site office at Bodafon Caravan Park and check in. Then continue on this road for two miles and turn right at the roundabout towards Moelfre. Go down the hill and turn left after the fish-and-chip shop. Continue for two miles to the blue-and-white sign for Tyn Rhos Caravan Park on the right-hand side.

Lligwy Beach is only 10 minutes’ walk from the caravan park, which gives easy access to hikers wanting to follow sections of the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path (also about 10 minutes on foot). For more hiking, mountain biking and climbing options, you can nip back across the Menai Strait to Eryri National Park (40 minutes’ drive). It’s also in pole position for jaunts to the island’s great heritage attractions like moated Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes), or National Trust-owned Plas Newydd House and Gardens (half an hour), looking out over the Menai Strait and known for its art collections and formal gardens. If you need to keep the kids entertained, your first stop might be the butterflies and bugs at Pili Palas Nature World (20 minutes), or you could have a potter around the abandoned mine workings at Parys Mountain Copper Mine (10 minutes). When you have thrill-seeking teens to contend with, the zipwires over the disused quarry at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (40 minutes) might well bring a big smile back to their faces.
