Whinney Hill Farm

A aimé peacefulness, simplicity, having campsite to ourselves for many days clean and well kept compost toilets and hot showers when they worked. Being able to have a campfire, and and under cover washup station and well managed system of rubbish n recycling. unloading nearby then having cars away from campsite, this was really good and great little all terrain carts to help you brining your camp gear onto the camping field - so no lugging just wheeling the cart. Really good set up - saw owls and deer and swallows. No passing traffic noise, just the odd whinney - well it is whinney hill! Friendly people managing the site as well.

N'a pas aimé on occasion not hot shower - its all to do with water pressure at its not neglect it has been the local plumbers constant challenge apparently to get these showers to be hot - quite why they are hot sometimes and not other really beats me!

A aimé Everything was great. Nice simple site. Lovely views of horses in the fields and hills. One big field (could've done with grass being shorter) and wooded area. Compost toilets which were clean and didn't smell.
Showers which came warm eventually. (You have to run them both at same time?!)
Washing up area (light needs fixing)
Maybe provide a couple of firepits for people to borrow?
Expect a Basic site and you'll be very happy.
You can't park at the tent so need to use the trolleys to move your gear.

A aimé The toliet and shower very clean and lots of loo roll and cleaning products and sanity bin and clear signs explaining how to use and well lit up . Also the washing up arear is great no hot water take a kettle of hot water with you and perfect .

A aimé Flat ground, compost loos are clean and nice. Beautiful area, nice runs and cool to see the horses.

Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay. I am very sorry about the showers, I was not made aware there was an issue with them until seeing your review, the plumber was only here this time last week giving the boiler a service, so I'm shocked to hear this. Really disappointed you had that experience, as usually our showers are running lovely and hot. I hope it won't put you off visiting us again. Many thanks Molly

A aimé Location is perfect for a peaceful getaway, huge field with plenty of space to choose from. Loved the washing up trailer, compostable toilets and trollers to transport gear onto the field. no hot water in the shower during our stay but only one night so a quick cold one wasn’t an issue.
Great stables tour with Jack who gave us lots of info re the amazing work at the BTRC… keep up the good work. Will defo come back soon to this lovely site!

A aimé Beautiful location, peaceful with stunning views. Don't be put off by composting toilets. They were clean and only smelled of pine wood chips! Warm showers, too.

N'a pas aimé Bins and recycling would have been nice, and maybe a dressing shelter near the showers.
We were lucky with the weather.

Thank you for your kind words, I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I am not sure if you maybe missed the bins and recycling point as we have 2 recycling bins and 2 general waste bins just down from the washing up station, it has bamboo cane around the bins are to make sure it isn't too much of an eye sore.
