Irton House Farm

A aimé We absolutely loved our stay! The views are beautiful, and the facilities are fantastic. There’s a lovely, cosy indoor seating area, as well as a great games room with ping pong and pool tables — perfect for relaxing and keeping everyone entertained.
The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean and well maintained, which makes such a big difference when camping.
Overall, this has been the best campsite we’ve stayed at so far, and we would happily come back again. Highly recommended!

A aimé This has been our favourite campsite to date. From the warm welcome and tour of the facilities to the tales of cheeky weasels robbing the chicken eggs everything is just lovely. Nature on your doorstep,we watched the ospreys flying around from our tent porch. Stunning views of the lake and land. RAF planes zooming through the valley. Fantastic clean facilities, lovely games room, stone circle,tree house,sitting areas there really is something for everyone. Farmers are the hardest working people I know and it's a testament to the family that they still greet everyone with a smile and are happy to answer any questions you throw at them. We used the hot tub/pool twice during our stay and it's well worth the money. We absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to come back again.

A aimé The view of the lake was amazing.
The owners were very friendly, even letting my daughter walk one of the sheep! The variety of animals kept my daughter entertained too. Great value shop on site.

A aimé Location, proximity in driving time to much of the Lake District, despite it being at the top of the NP.
Facilities, very clean and excellent showers and toilets.
Facilities, table tennis + pool, climbing frame.
Site, stone circle, open feeling, chickens roaming free, rare breed sheep.
The view from the hard standing pitch down to Bassenthwaite Lake.
We didn't use the indoor 'lounge area, but it looked like an excellent place to chill, read a book, play cards.

N'a pas aimé It's not really a dislike: I feel it would be useful to have a couple of extra toilets / showers.

A aimé Third time back here and its still my favourite place. Great shower facilities, lovely hosts and fantastic views that never get old. New reception area looks great.

N'a pas aimé Would be good to check out a little later. 11am was a challenge with all our kit! Shower rooms sometimes busy. Would also be good if you could bring a gazebo as there is minimal shade on sunny days.

A aimé Really nice tidy small site. Very respectful. Great little shop with a lovely seating area. Love the fire pits. We really enjoyed our stay and would return, the view over the mountains was incredible surrounded by chickens, sheep and horses on a working farm. Cool that they also have a drying room for wet jackets although I immediately forgot where it was 😅
