Award-winning, Cornish and within walking distance of the beach... come to Carnon Downs Caravan and Camping Park for all this in a scenic setting between the north and south coasts, three miles from Truro and Falmouth, and on the main bus route to both.
The park is handsomely landscaped, with spacious pitches backed by Cornish stone walls, hedges and flowering shrubs. It's surrounded by woodland and hedgerows, and is so dog-friendly it has its own seven-acre dog-walking area (as well as plenty of countryside walks to coastline and inns straight from the site).
As well as being three miles from both Truro and Falmouth for days in town, museums, boat trips, beaches and watersports, this spacious park is only a couple of miles from the National Trust's Trelissick Gardens or to ferry rides across the River Fal. It's half a mile from the village of the same name, within walking distance of three country inns.
Carnon Downs is a green and well laid out site, with excellently-maintained amenities including heated shower and toilet blocks, and a family/ disabled bathroom. Gas cylinders are available to buy and there's free wifi. Also on site are a play area and a visitors' room with table tennis, and a well-stocked bookshelf for grownups to leaf through on peaceful afternoons.

Carnon Downs is well placed to reach the best of Cornwall, including National Trust properties, north and south coastline, and world-famed attractions such as the Eden Project 40 minutes' drive away.
The nearest sands from the site are at Loe beach, three miles away along the Carrick Roads waterway. Fishing, sailing and swimming are popular picks here and the calm waters are safe for paddling too. Close by, have more first-rate fishing as well as scenic walks at the River Fal, and ferry trips across the river to the spectacular Roseland peninsula.
You can walk or cycle straight from the site on the Mineral Tramways Coast to Coast trail, which runs from Portreath on the north coast to Devoran (and Old Quay Inn) on the south. There are plenty of inns and cafés along the route, as well as a much-recommended bakery at for pastries at Portreath. Going back north along the trail, pedal up to Bissoe Valley Nature Reserve three miles away, or further along to the halfway point at Scorrier within seven. You can also walk to Devoran and along Restronguet and Penpol Creek in 30 minutes from the park.
The famed surfing centre of Newquay is 35 minutes' drive away.
