Great location but the gradient of the camping fields is a no.

Jul 2026

Liked Location. Situated right at the edge of the Forest of Dean with some fantastic walks. Despite the site being very large and full it was really quiet at night.

Disliked The camping fields were on steep slopes making it difficult to pitch a tent, uncomfortable to sleep and relax.

Fantastic family friendly site with great hosts.

Aug 2025

Liked Fantastic quirky site. We loved the bonfire and disco fire truck. Felt the owners went above and beyond to ensure everyone enjoyed their stay. Lots of effort has gone into making the site a great place to stay and we loved the onsite accommodation that you had (made our tent seem very boring!) Great atmosphere on site and everyone observed the 10pm to 8am quiet time which was great. Site looked across open fields and was down a quiet lane which was easy to find. Nice safe environment for the children to play in.

Disliked Really can't fault it but if I had to put something would probably say, I think a shower block would add to the site and encourage people to stay longer.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind words and hearing you all had a great time is always rewarding for the team. We are planning on a shower block for the 2026 season for campers so watch this space! We may even come up with a few more quirky camping ideas. Hopefully we will see you again Next season for more relaxation, fun, and outdoor living

Excellent site, spotlessly clean and great staff

Aug 2024

Liked The owners clearly take pride in the site as it's spotlessly clean. The toilet and shower block is sparkling and we loved the music. Great bar and food van too. Excellent location and great canal walk alongside. Large site but quiet at night. Highly recommend.

Beautiful quiet site near Wimbleball Lake

Sept 2023

Liked Lovely site tucked away at the bottom of a lane with just a short walk to the lake. Very friendly and helpful hosts who brought out bubbles to keep the kids occupied- thank you! Spotlessly clean facilities with the bonus of having a fridge and kettle. Nice and quiet, well maintained site. We'll definitely be back.

Disliked No WiFi signal, which would be a negative for some but great for us to fully switch off. So no negatives!

Lovely little campsite

May 2023

Liked Beautiful site in the midst of a farm, picturesque village a short walk away.

Disliked Only negative is the entrance to the site is padlocked late afternoon and we weren't informed of this so having to ring round to get a code. Would be easier if this was supplied at check in. But otherwise super site thank you.

Picturesque campsite in the heart of the countryside

Aug 2022

Liked Lovely quiet campsite located down the end of a country lane. Beautiful walks nearby for our two dogs and a stream for the children to play in. Plenty of space on the site for my boys to run around. Free firewood and firepit provided which was lovely. A relaxing stay enjoyed by the whole family. Only facility on site (as advertised) was a portaloo, which was all we needed. This was kept spotlessly clean. Great host too, thank you.

An Experience

Aug 2019

Liked Decided last minute to book a camping pod in Cornwall. It had electric and wifi so thought I could cope. Arrive to discover that bedding isn't included nor is cutlery or crockery so we had a meal of lasagne with our hands and the one teaspoon I'd packed for my yoghurt. Got the last duvet in B&M for the kids (so I'm clearly not the only idiot that assumes beds come with BEDDING). According to the website it said it sleeps 4, it doesn't, there was one double bed and some joined up cushions that were the width and depth of a sanitary towel which of course I got. So settled down for a night of no sleep on a sanitary towel, wrapped in a picnic blanket with the picnic bag as a pillow spooning the dog for warmth as the pod had gone from 100 degrees to minus 20 with no inbetween. Within minutes my old bones were crying. Despite me marching everyone to the ghastly toilet blocks before bed and shoving youngest son's willy out the side of the pod at 10pm "just to be safe", he still managed to jetstream a pint of pee all up my back, the sanitary towel mattress, the picnic blanket, floor and dog at some ungodly hour. Had the best time trying to clear that up, change him and find a square inch of dry bed for him to lie on in pitch darkness without waking the other 2 with only the light of my fitbit wristwatch. As soon as the sun came up, about the time I finally drifted off, everyone was awake and raring to go. Ate a communal breakfast of cereal out of a lunchbox, again with shared spoon and headed for the beach. Kids ran off the second I parked leaving me to carry the 500 bags you need for a few hours at the beach, plus trying to control an over excited dog who elephant pooed 3 steps onto the beach. Great fun trying to clear that up with all the stuff and him choking and pulling to go play. Set up base camp and went to join the kids at the rock pool. Watched with amusement as my dog picked his way over the rocks (not a water lover) wondering what an earth he was doing. He then squatted precariously at the furthest rock and I watched with horror as he deposited another huge poo. I had to wade all the way out to sea with a poo bag and just as I got to it, a huge wave came and scattered it in several directions towards the 20 or so kids with their fishing nets and crab buckets. Thankfully the crowd of parents watching found this hilarious and swiftly evacuated all the kids from the rock pools. I wanted to die of shame. And then came the storm which made the hike to the toilet blocks even more enjoyable. A day of rain, rain and rain and a trip on the £&%^ing M5 that took four times longer than it should have. Kids loved it though so I guess that's all that matters!!
